Perfectly reasonable hotel. The rooms are a good size and the views from the balcony are great (if you ignore the two very ugly tower blocks at either side). A few tiny issues with the room in that the double bed was actually two single beds pushed together (with single covers as well) and the bathroom only had an all-in-one soap dispenser thing rather than proper toiletries, but these obviously aren't the end of the world. Other than that the staff were helpful, and the small outdoor infinity pool was nice for a swim at the end of a busy day of sightseeing.
It's worth noting if you don't have transport that it is a 35-40min walk to the old town, including a small stretch on a busy road with no pavement. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel but the buses only run about once an hour so you need to plan your day around them a bit. We usually walked down and got the bus back up. The ones we caught were pretty busy and we were always standing. There are a few restaurants down at the port/marina that we tried (about a 15/20min walk), but there are a lot of steps to climb back up to the hotel (we counted 483 - hard work after eating lots of food!).

Dear amym8925,
thank you for taking a time to write this review about your experience in our Hotel and our City. We know that the hardest way to explore Dubrovnik is on foot but we have to add that we are happy that you tried going up and down the hills. This way you probably saw more of Dubrovnik than the average tourist does.
Next time you get here our hotel management will hopefully solve all the small issues like toiletries and we do hope that we will manage to fully meet your expectations.
Until the next time, kind regards.

This is a beautiful hotel overlooking the port of Gruz. The view from our room was stunning. All the members of staff were pleasant, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast and the buffet dinner were very good - something for all tastes. Room and public areas were spotless. There is a walking path to the Old City and a bus stop outside the hotel.

Really angry that a pay for a foot massage with Andonella. When the movement from one of her hands is almost unbearable because she is circling my ankle bone for far too long I take away my eye mask to find she is flicking through her mobile phone with her other one! Obviously forgotten what she was actually supposed to be doing. My right foot had a far better treatment because she could see I wasn't happy seeing her reading her way through posts on 'phone before she noticed me looking. My daughter had facial with another therapist and loved it. I just paid the 250 kuna as I was too angry to say anything!

The hotel has been lovely, room was double although receptionist said we would get twin when we left our cases with him. We sorted ourselves by separating the beds. We left our home at 4.30am but when we arrived at 11.30 we were told we couldn't get into room until after 2. The bar staff are amazing, friendly, professional even though I think they may well be a little short staffed. Nothing is too much bother for the two barmen they are a credit to Hotel Adria.

took friends to Dubrovnik and had a superb time. its the cleanest city ever visited, the people were very helpful and friendly all spoke perfect English. the restaurants were excellent and food really good. there is plenty to do and see, historical sites and also the film location for Game of Thrones and Star Wars. we were there for six days and you could probably do a couple more. Weather was great in the high 20's but the streets shaded so you do not get too hot other than the main street where in full sun all day. the cafe's great to sit and watch the visitors and have drinks. I rate this as one of the best locations for all interests and ages

Room Tip: ask for room with view and you get overlooking the harbour which is very nice

Dear paul r,
we truly appreciate your positive opinion about Dubrovnik as a destination. Hopefully there will be more things to see here and more things to do in the near future. We also have to add that you choose probably the best time of the year for sightseeing and you avoided high temperatures of July and August. If you ever decide to visit us again definitely do the same thing you did the first time.
Until then, best regards.

We were on a road trip in Croatia purposefully NOT planning every night. Late in the evening we were close to Dubrovnik and decided to call a hotel using an app. Hotel Adria came up in the price range and good reviews so we called them. A very nice gentleman took our request for a handicapped-accessible room. We arrived about an hour later and he was waiting for us pointing to a specific, convenient handicap accessible parking spot. Kudios for that!!. He then kindly checked us in, promptly took us to our room, and made us feel so welcome instantly. The handicapped room was spacious and very clean and well appointed. We had a balcony with a sea view, very nice. It so happened that it rained for the next couple of days so we stayed put and used a lot of the hotel services.

Wi-Fi worked very well in all areas of the hotel. There is a spa at the premises, absolutely gorgeous as it is located sort of carved in the hill and very well designed. Lovely. The masseuse / attendant was late for appointments and when she arrived was in a foul mood. ONLY bad thing I have to say about this hotel . She was semi-rude to me and completely rude to some other elderly guests. A shame because she did an acceptable massage therapy job. The fitness room was well equipped. Only thing we paid extra was for massage treatments.

The hotel is popular with tours groups, which mean that it s busy first thing in the morning and in the evening. Other than that, the hotel is just quiet and lovely with beautiful vistas from most angles of the public areas.

Breakfast (included) was excellent, although some of the breakfast staff looked like they sincerely hated their job. It came across in their interactions. The restaurant was very good and popular because the hotel is located sort of off the main road area, so you do need a car. The kind housekeeping staff did our laundry for a very good price. Very pleased.

We had planned to stay overnight, we stayed 3 nights instead. We walked away so grateful to the Front Desk staff who answered every question so kindly, the housekeeping who did a superb job maintaining the place, and the restaurant/bar service who were professionals performing their jobs. Definitely recommend this place, I can't even think why would I bother staying anyplace else. Lovely.

Room Tip: Rooms with sea views away fro m the front.

Dear NYChichi,
on behalf of our staff I would like to thank you for your kind words and I have to say that we very much appreciate your recommendation. We are more than happy to see so many good comments in one review and I thank you for the five circle rating despite the bad experience you had with some of our colleagues.
You are more than welcome to stay with us at any time and we would be honored to have you back at Adria as our returning guests.
Kind regards.
