If you want something new and modern with all the conveniences, except location, Pucic Palace is not for you. But if you want old world charm and an A+ location, with an attentive staff, then choose Pucic Palace. As Dubrovnik tends to be very crowded, I recommend choosing Pucic Palace as it is in the center of town.

Our travel agent tried to dissuade us from staying here. "Too noisy." We did not find it to be that way. Absolutely wonderful and helpful staff. We had a very early departure, and they made us fresh juice and coffee, and packed a sandwich for us.

Rooms are very well appointed, with excellent amenities.

Great location in the walled city. Not a place for quiet relaxation, no real lobby. But we were on the go, so we used the hotel for sleeping and breakfast, which were terrific.

This hotel is located in the old walled city of Dubrovnik. It's found next to a square that is used as a marketplace that sell everything from Lavender to fruits both dried and fresh yet inside it remains quiet and cool.

They will pick you up and return you and your luggage to the city gate as its a vehicle free city.

We were placed in room 16 which is on the 4th floor (watch out for the room service trolly that is stored on the landing). No modern electronic lock for the door only an old fashioned key. Being a rather large room, it was rather surprising as we didn't have any windows to look out of to see the hubbub of the city only 2 skylights. It's tastefully decorated but on the tired side and in need of a revamp.

Attention to detail by the housekeeping team was a bit off. The complementary bottle of water was not replaced along with the tissues or the bathroom products (eg 1 tiny bottle of body cream does not hold enough for 2 adults takings 2 showers per day) The marks of either blood/coffee or coke near the door and skirting board was never touched and the rug was grubby also the gorgeous tiled floor in the bathroom needs a really good professional clean. Oh and we fixed the blocked nozzles in the shower as hardly any water was coming through them. They were fantastic on replacing the towels even when we would have preferred to use them a second time. The sheets had marks on them along with the bathrobes (which were quite luxurious). The final thing with the room is that if they have a strong buffeting wind the skylight rattles enough to keep you awake.

Breakfast is served either inside or outside and is not the usual buffet style... You order off the menu they also have a terrace restaurant for other meals and you are supplied with a gold card to gain you discounts at other places. If you have a very early departure they will provide you with a breakfast box to take with you to the airport too.

They don't have space for a pool however they have an arrangement with a local beach club (a 10min stroll away) where you get complimentary sun lounges and towels ready for your bracing swim in the clear waters of the Adriatic Sea.

The staff were helpful but the sparkle and friendliness you expect from a 5 star hotel was lacking (in my experience this appeared to be a Croatian thing).

Finally, yes I would love to stay with them again especially if they could tweak the things mentioned.

We absolutely loved this hotel. From the moment we were picked up from the airport in a new, clean Mercedes sedan we were thrilled with the service. The staff was friendly and went up and beyond to please us -from making Resturant reservations to providing extra towels and water, they aimed to please.

We had 4 people in a two bedroom suite - the first thing you notice when you walk in to the room is the pleasant and fresh smell. The bathrooms were beautiful and large, the furniture very tasteful. The artwork in the room and common areas was stunning.

The outside Terrace served the best wine we had had in two weeks. Breakfast was good, not great and the service on a Sunday morning was a little slow but overall, the place and it’s location in the heart of the old city center can’t be beat!

Can't complain about the location of the hotel, right in the middle of the city within convenient walks to all points. Luggages have to hauled in by bell boys from the East Gate but that seems to be usual in pedestrian cities. The service is friendly and efficient. The room is very small, with two small suitcases you will trip all over one another. So, that is the plus and the minus. If you do not need to be in the city and like more room, then try hotels near by outside. We chose proximity to more room.
