Excellent all around, with staff very helpful.

Bright, airy, well-maintained, across the road from a local beach, and a 3 minute walk from "Bamboo" Bar, a great place to watch the sunset.

Beds very comfortable.

Breakfast buffet (included in most room rates) is superlative, well beyond the typical breakfast at similar Croatian hotels in both quality and diversity, with a wide choice of fresh vegetables, cheeses, fruit, plus made-to-order crepes and eggs.

As others have written, Niko is not in the old town, but is easy to reach by taxi or walking. On foot, walking along the waterfront, it's a 35 minute stroll to the rowboat ferry, which is a Zadar experience in it's own right.

A traditional style hotel with great decor, great service and location. The beach - pebbles as usual in Croatia - is just across the road so we popped over for a swim before enjoying the buffet breakfast with eggs cooked to order and a cheeky glass of champagne as it was there! It's a ten minute bus ride into the centre of town which was easy to manage and there also a few bars and restaurants close by, although we didn't visit them they looked good. Intended as a treat on our travels and fit the bill perfectly.

The Hotel Niko is up the beach from the old town, but a five minute walk takes you to the stop where you can catch the little "train" that takes you to the pedestrian bridge. The hotel check-in process is quick and easy. Like many of the hotels on this trip, they still use large keys rather than electronic entry, and also like most of our hotels on this two week trip, doors do not automatically close completely, which I consider a security issue, but certainly not unique to this hotel. Like most of the hotels we stayed in, the wifi was free but slow and somewhat spotty. The biggest problem could be the fact that there are no elevators for upper floors. However, the staff is more than willing to help with bags. We did not try the restaurant other than for breakfast.

We stayed in Hotel Niko for our last night in Zadar and I couldn't recommend it more. The staff there were lovely and the hotel was right beside the beach. The hotel provided sun loungers and beach towels to guests and a staff member was always to hand to help set them up.

The hotel is located a bit outside Zadar Old Town (40 minute walk) - this was perfect for us as we spent most of our trip in the Old Town and decided on a hotel for the last night.

The room provided to us was perfect - it came with a sea view and a lovely balcony to sit out on.

My only regret is that we didn't stay for longer!

Room tip: As for a sea view room, you won't regret it!

The service in this hotel and restaurant is superb - very attentive and very helpful. Our room was huge and having the beach across the road makes it easy to cool off. It is not in the centre of Zadar, but a cab ride there only costs 40kn to 50 kn. If you are prepared to pay the price it is a lovely place to stay.
