A wonderful historic walled city, beautiful building and lovely twisting lanes and alleys. Great shops and restaurants and a welcoming atmosphere.

Wonderful, not too touristy, ambiance, nice people...what is not to like.
Highly recommended for a weekend on it's own or as a base for excursions.

Pics are of the rooftops (triangular formation of the old town).

Enter through one of the old gates, meander through the narrow medieval alleys. Few plazas, many churches, lots of cat souvenir shops, several cafes to choose from . If you wander too far, you reach the walls of the town, or the steep stairs to the fort.

Get a free map at the gate entrance along the coastal road/cruise port. Let your sense of getting lost prevail....it is a tiny walled UNESCO heritage town.

It is a small church. There is a museum upstairs with many relics displayed. You must pay entry fee 2 euros, but maybe it's worth it if you're into this kind of art.

The town is very old and the arhitecture is beautiful, but when you see one town like this it is like you seen them all. The street signs are not well marked, so we had dificulties finding our way around the town.
