I spent 2 nights in Splendid in the summer 2018. The hotel is in an old fabulous house. I was impressed by the windows view - the cathedral during the night is really beautiful. The best thing was the room - wide and comfortable bed that can give you best relax. You can take a bath and lay down in the bed all day and feel like a Splendid queen! Staff is very helpful and friendly. The food was normal, nothing special. Some public transport stations are really close - which is good if you use it and bad because you hear it all the time.

Room Tip: Choose the cathedral view!

We stayed here for a week and learned that this hotel has perfect location.
Reception had good language skills and our room was on the second floor just above the restaurant level. Quiet rooms and very tidy ones too.
Breakfast had everything you needed. Not Excellent as somewhere we have encountered but sufficien to satisfy your needs.
From this hotel you could easily walk to all the sights and to the beach too.
You should learn to use the bus because it is really cheap way to get around.

Room Tip: If possible you can request view to the Cathedral.

Hotel was stylish and spotless. Huge bedroom with a large double bed and traditional hotel decor. It felt very grand, amazing to think it was probably very like this forty years ago but they have kept it up to such great standards. Attentive staff and great breakfasts.
Our long weekend flew by but we did get a real feel for this country. We will book a ten day holiday next year and get to see much more.

The hotel is located in the city center but it's in a quiet place. The rooms are spacial with excellent furniture and the bathroom is fully equipped with the most necessary things. Breakfast is delicious. Service is very good. There's an easy access to the city center and main landmarks in Varna.

The rooms are decorated in an elegant classic style, right down to the trouser press and shoe horn. I should imagine that if was to stay at this hotel in the 1940's it would have looked very similar (except for the flat screen TV). Impeccably maintained, spotlessly clean, and attentive staff. Breakfast had the usual generous Bulgarian selection of sausage, eggs, chees and salads.

The hotel does not have a restaurant (apart from breakfast) nor a bar (although drinks can be obtained in the lobby or from the mini bar in the room). However, there are many eateries close to the hotel. The location was excellent for our purposes ( a city break taking in the museums, churches and traditional Bulgarian restaurants). However, if it's a sea and sun vacation you are after, you would do better finding a hotel nearer the beach.
