It was an impulsive decision of my childhood friends and myself to spend iftar time together and re-live the memories from school time when we used to visit Village Restaurant Metropole regularly for iftar and dinner and I feel really glad to say that after almost five years since my last visit the place has retained it's high standard of food. At just PKRS 899/- inclusive of tax the iftar buffet was great with a variety of Chinese, Pakistani and BBQ dinner dishes and standard iftar served in buffet as well was tasty and fresh infact the Bar Be Que was being served live. All in all I would rate it as a nice three star restaurant however the waiters were quite lazy infact they were quite invisible, throughout dinner was searching one to order soft drinks but couldn't spot one and when actually did spotted one even then the effort was in vain as even after he saw us signaling him to come to us he took a u turn and vanished again. Had it not been ramadan I would have given them a good piece of my mind! Nevertheless the place is a must visit with family and friends this Ramadan!

Have been visiting the outdoor restaurant since 1988. Solid food and no worry of getting sick. Refreshing from indoor stuffy dinning

We have been going there since the beginning almost for the last two decades or so and glad that they have maitained their quality of food.

Initially, the ambience and decor was much better as there were rustic wooden tables and chairs and eating under a huge tree with live music was quite an experience after a busy day. Lately, the original furniture disappeared and came the usual iron tables and chairs with cushions not so comfy but still we go there just for the succulent bites of their Chicken Tikka, BBQ Chicken Liver, Seekh Kebabs and Chicken Karahi. Their Prawn Masala is definitely amongst the best serving locally.

The menu is quite large and not a single dish is tasteless.

They do have Buffer Dinner and Iftar-Dinner arrangements with delicious food served in plenty but I would still prefer a-la-carte as I do not have the courage to attack on the food and come back with my plate filled to the brim leaving others only scrapes.

The only thing that they need to improve is the dessert.

The small lanterns (with candles inside) and the live music where your requests are honored immediately make the ambience more enjoyable. Another plus point is the ample parking area which is rare in the locality the restaurant is in. By the way, it is just across the road from Avari Towers and Services Club and is next to Metropole Hotel.

They have exclusive areas for small to medium gatherings. Special mention should be to their price which is very reasonable comparing the quality of food they serve. A family of six can easily eat a sumptuous dinner within 2,500 rupees.

Will keep going there. Keep it up Village Gardens.

N.B: The review by maliha.n is perhaps for Village Salt-n-Pepper.
