Splendid location in a great and beautiful house, right in the historical centre of Luang Prabang, in front of some beautiful temples. Our room was very clean, nicely prepared, with a mini bar (sodas, water), AC, fan, TV, and toiletries if you came without your own. Complimentary bottles of water. Bathroom was very clean.
The lobby itself is clean, spacious, with wooden floors and furniture.
The common balcony gives you a view on the main temples of the city, a beautiful Stupa and if you want to see it from a distance, the alms ceremony with the local monks.
There's free coffee doses, tea throughout the day, if its not included some breakfast items which are nice. You can also get some food for a very reasonable price in this part of the city (noodle soup, Pho).

Last but not least, the staff has been incredibly amazing, whether it was the young receptionist or the lovely vietnamese manager (a real delight and joyful person) of the place! They were helpful, always provided us with information when needed and assisted us by booking tuktuk and minivan for our various excursions. Always with a smile!

The receptionist at this guesthouse was very friendly, she allowed us an early check in. We were also served welcome drinks - coconut water which was very sweet and refreshing.

The room was small but clean. There's cable tv and wifi was strong. Breakfast was yummy with local noodles, fruits, juice as well as coffe/tea.

Location was good, along the main street and opposite a temple, about 10 mins walk to the shops, night market, Royal Palace and entrance to Mount Phousi. In the mornings, we could watch the Monks' Almsgiving procession from the balcony.

We love the free bicycles for guest use, we cycled along Mekong River, all over town and to all the local attractions.

The friendly staff also booked a tuk tuk for us to airport. Overall, it has been a pleasant experience with Sokxai.

We stayed our first night at another guest house in LP with a similar name that ended up being dirty and across an ally from a loud sports bar but I knew this one was in a quiet end of town (having been to LP multiple times) so we moved over here. The woman at the front desk (who is newly from Vietnam) is the most friendly person I have encountered in a very friendly country. She is always happy to help with things and is a great asset to the hotel. You do hear the morning bells at the temples across the street but I usually don't get up until I know the monks are coming, then we get up and have tea while we watch the other tourists watch the monks. Rooms are clean, standard Lao setup with a nice hot shower. It is a pretty place with colored lanterns on the balcony (where I sit on our 4th morning here as I write) and people often stop across the street to take a photo of it. Certainly there are fancier places but this one is excellent value for money and the staff take good care of it.

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious bowl of Lao noodle soup each and used their wifi - great value (15000 kip for soup), lovely breezy shaded verandah and added bonus to have Jan Garbarek playing softly in the background.
