Our second trip to the Atlantis, which is probably for Non-Americans who are more used to this type of travel e.g. Cancun, a cultural shock. The resort is a mega city within a mega city (whilst constructing activities have slowed down after the financial crisis and remain much lower). Everything is huge and defintely not for someome who looks after cosy places. The rooms are well equipped and still in good shape. We stayed in a Imperial Club room which is better loacted in the East Wing (Closer to literally all attractions) and provides seperate checkin and -out , a lounge , and a variety of more amenities like breakfast, wifi etc. The room has had 2 queen beds and accomodates 4 whilst this is really a challenge than. As we have had a great upgrade on our last stay, where we paid a small extra and where moved into a terrace suite we have been unlucky this time with the hotel booked by over 100 %. Service overall is good in all areas whilst you also feel the size of the hotel. Food is excellent in many areas with an extra plus for the breakfast which remains one of the best hotel breakfasts for me globally if you can stand the noise (i would not recommend the hotel if you travel with kids - in this case have a look for the One and Only.Variety and quality is superb here and this is more than any breakfast you will have experienced as it also expands into a full fledged brunch. The steakhouse is also excellent and has been voted best steak in Dubai recently (try the Wagyu) . On the downside you are usually seated inside as there are only a couple of tables outside and the steakhouse has no outside seating at all. Also on the downside is the silly age restriction for some restaurants like Nobu. We have been to many Nobus elsewhere and our kids have always been welcome (both slightly under 10) and have enjoyed it. Being at a very childorientated facility overall this sounds even more weired to me. (the argument was the best that they havent got a children menu at Nobu - which we never would have asked for).
Fun is a big argument with one of the best water parks worldwide in the resort. This only is one of the reasons while we will definetly come back.
So if you are not afraid of crowds you can have a great time at Atlantis for a couple of days. Its not a cheap experience but overal with all facilities it provides good value for the buck or Euro.

I've been to The Atlantis 4 times since it opened with my wife and 2 children, aged 2 and 4.

The sheer scale of the resort is just amazing with a great selection of top quality restaurants and other facilities.

The hotel is absolutely immaculate and all the staff are wonderfully friendly with outstanding service provided at all levels. Even the most menial members of staff provide service with a friendly smile.

We stayed in an Imperial Club Regal Suite with a further interconnecting bedroom for our children. The suite was fantastic and very spacious.

Guests staying in Imperial Club get access to the Imperial Club lounge which provides complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea and evening drinks and canapés. Children are welcome in the lounge and there is a fantastic family area within it that has children's toys.

The Atlantis is just the perfect place for a family with young children. We were made extremly welcome and there is so much to do that you do not even need to leave the resort unless you choose to do so.

The hotel is quite expensive but it did cost over a £1 billion to build so you can understand the need to charge the prices they do.

If you want an amazing family holiday in a genuine 5-star environment then this is a wonderful place to go.

We have returned from a 5 night stay with our 3 children. We arrived early in the morning and were given a complimentary voucher for use in the Saffron restaurant (breakfast is very expensive £150 for our family). meanwhile our luggage was taken to the hospitality lounge where we were able to change for swimming etc. We were able to find sun beds but only 3, the huge problem they have is people reserving the beds and then going off for the day! We have stayed in many 5 star hotels and this is the first time we have struggled to get sun beds, so we decamped to the beach and just walked back for the pool, and this was not a problem for us, and it was much quieter! Also, The Shore restaurant stays it operates a first come first served basis for lunch, well, this works if you don't let people pre book their lunch places! We have previously stayed at the Jumeriah Beach and they remove towels from loungers if they have not been used for an hour, perhaps this is a policy Atlantis would like to employ.

Restaurants were amazing, the food was superb, I especially like the Seafire restaurant with its choice of Steak, again book your evening meals in advance otherwise you will find yourself eating at 10pm!

Rooms were great, lovely bathrooms and spotless.

Staff very polite.

Hotel immaculately clean.

Great bonus having free access to the watermark, the kids loved it.

A fantastic hotel that will not disappoint if you can get past the sun bed issue!!

Our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children aged 13, 11, and 8) stayed at that Atlantis for 3 nights.

The service was excellent. My husband checked in ahead of us. He arrived around 11:30 and was courteously told that the rooms would not be ready until 2pm. He confirmed that our request for adjoining rooms was noted and the check in staff member said they would do their best to meet our needs. At 2pm, the rooms were still not ready, so the Atlantis provided us with a free lunch voucher. We did eventually receive adjoining rooms on the 8th floor. The rooms were quite spacious with a large bathroom, small balcony, and great view of the zero entry pool and beach. It was well worth the small wait!

The grounds of the Atlantis are spacious. It is about a 1/2 km walk along the beach to the water park. This distance allows the hotel grounds to remain quiet. Even the water park remains fairly quiet as it is spread out. The lazy river/rapids ride takes about 45 minutes to do one lap! The entire park was incredibly clean. Lifeguards were all over the place. I cut my leg, and a medic was by my side within minutes. He helped clean up the blood, applied a bandage, and provided an ice pack. I was embarrassed to get so much attention for a small cut, but I did feel assured that if anything were to happen to one of my kids, they would be in great hands.

The one downside to the resort is that people save seats and then don't really use them as they are out and about. However, there are plenty of seats if you look for them. At the water park, we took the time to walk to the further lagoon and there were only a couple of other families sharing this location with us.

The water slides at the park are a bit on the short side, and we didn't feel that the lines were worth the rides.

The staff went above and beyond to provide good service. My husband ordered us drinks while we were watching our children at the pool. The bartender said that there were pool waiters, but rather than sending us to find one of them, he took the order and personally delivered the drinks. Upon checking out of the hotel, one of the staff members saw my kids and husband pulling suitcases, and he insisted upon handling the luggage for them.

We would definitely return to the Atlantis as the service was great and the grounds beautiful. As other reviewers mention, it is worth splitting time between hotels as the Atlantis is a bit out of the way of the city. Cab fares are relatively inexpensive, though. We paid anywhere from 30-55 dhs for each ride (about USD 8-15). Our cab fare from the airport was just under 100 dhs.
