This hotel is amazing!! Definately 5 star. It is luxurious, the food is amazing, the rooms were fantastic, service first class. We went with another family, our 5 children aged between 14 and 2. The aquapark and lost chambers were great. My only negative point is that there was no entertainment on an evening for the children, so they did tend to get a little fed up. There was plenty for them to do during the day, however you had to pay, again very expensive.
We stayed on half board basis, food and drink to buy is very expensive out there, as are the trips.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Imperial room which was on the 15th floor. Not good if you are scared of heights. However we had a lovely view of the sea and a little bit of the Palm.

you should atleast staty for 3 days in the hotel , its worth the every money spent there. Lost chambers too good...water world toooo good and food yummmmmmm..the only issue i feel that the hotel lobby is just too crowded with visitors. It makes you feel as if you have entered a shopping mall..It too noisy till 4 pm

Room Tip: 2nd floor rooms were too great

I visited the hotel with 2 of my friends. Our main purpose was the beach and the acqua park.
Room: it was amazing, they gave us a room in the 9th floor which i believe has bigger rooms. it was more of a extremely large suit. it was nicely equipped with everything you can possibly need. It even had nice variety of coffee and tea. I loved the spacious bathroom. They gave us a complimentary chocolate box and it was good.

I found the pool to be extremely nice and relaxing. I loved it size and its depth. at the edges of the pool it had like steps that you can set on and relax looking at the beach view.
Beach side was nice and less crowded than than the pool.
The prices for drinks and water on the beach I found to be very expensive. A large bottle of water costs 40 Dirhams. the good part is that they used to give away free water and ice cream, if you were lucky and happen to be in the beach that time.
Lobby was crowded all the time.
The staff were lovely and welcoming.
The only disadvantage about this hotel was their valet parking service. It was TOOO SLOW, and TOO CROWDED. we had to wait 20 min one time and the weather was so hot and humid.

Room Tip: 9th floor rooms are bigger, especially the one in the corner

I stayed at this hotel in 2008 the week before it's grand opening. I then revisited it again in 2009 and 2010 on a day pass each time. Each visit has been with a large group of travel agents.

The hotel had a few teething problems which are well documented in the earlier reviews, but to be fare it was sitting on a quite difficult to get to stretch of land and the infrastructure was not fully functioning or able to cope with the demand for transportation to the main areas of the city at this time. Now that the monorail and roads have been completed the hotel is far easier to reach or indeed leave than at the start.

The hotel is enormous and very similar to the Atlantis in the Bahamas, it also has undertones of the Disney theme park, all pink fibreglass etc. The main reception area is a huge round shaped grand hall, the centrepiece of which is a towering modern bohemiem glass structure, opulence is the name of the game here, the more gold, marble and jewels the better. Because of the sheer size and hard surfaces there is a constant echo, and the thousands of people either staying in the hotel or visiting on a day pass make it feel a bit like an airport.

It is easy to get lost when trying to locate your room as there are two enormous wings served by banks of elevators, miles of corridors and staircases. The rooms are large and very well appointed, with all the luxuries one would expect of such an establishment. Slightly disappointing, however is that many of the rooms only have French style balconies, that have patio doors but nowhere to sit as the railings are fitted to the window frames. We did see other room categories that do have balconies.

What the Atlantis does well is the watermark, which you can visit for a day even without staying at the hotel. This as lots of excellent rides, lazy rivers, leap of faith, rapids a children's area beaches, dolphins etc. and the downstairs atrium has he much lauded aquarium which is a magnificent

This is a lavish hotel, with beautiful rooms and lots of high end designer outlets, a fabulous theme park, a good choice of restaurants etc, personally I just found it quite impersonal due to it's immense size and the amount of footfall from day visitors as well as guests.

If staying in Dubai I would suggest a couple of nights here and then possibly another hotel on he jumeirah beach area for relaxing afterwards.

Room Tip: Try to get a pool facing room, and consider upgrading for a balcony.
