Owner description: Described as both a ‘Vertical City’ and ‘A Living Wonder,’ Burj Khalifa, developed by Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC, is the world’s tallest building. Rising gracefully from the desert, Burj Khalifa honours the city with its extraordinary union of art, engineering and meticulous craftsmanship. At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world. The tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010, and is responsible for a number of world-firsts. The tower became the world’s tallest man-made structure just 1,325 days after excavation work started in January 2004. Burj Khalifa utilised a record-breaking 330,000 cubic metres of concrete; 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement; 103,000 square metres of glass; and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel. The tower took 22 million man hours to build.

We bought our tickets online in advance. You can only book one month ahead.
Having a print out I believed that this was my entry ticket. Unfortunately it wasn’t, we still had to join the queue of people buying tickets.
Then we went through and joined another queue to go through the turnstile.
Then it was put into a big group waiting for the lift. The lift was a bit different as it had images projected onto the wall as you go up.
Coming out on floor 125 we found no seats so, as there is no time limit to how long you can stay, the glass around the level has people sitting out on the edge waiting for the sunset. The only empty spaces where the places for upsell staff photos.
We walked around trying to squeeze in for a photo then found stairs to the floor below. Here was more glass windows with people camped out and an outdoor section. Despite signs saying don’t sit next to the glass it was crowded.
Most people hogged the glass to take photos whilst others pushed in to go next. Being English we found ourselves too polite waiting for a turn and found that just didn’t happen and we had to push before someone behind us did.
When it was time to leave we decided to check out it photos. The upstairs ones were ok but the downstairs ones were cheesy having us super imposes onto the building. We decided on 3 and asked the price. We here got smacked when we were told aed 220 per photo! We said that’s too much and we’re offered a smaller size at a cheaper price. The photos were the right size for a souvenir so I’m not sure how big they should have been.
Overall the view was good from what we could see. Only issue was the crowd control and it was expensive for a family.

Thank Julie G

The accent from 1 to 164 floors takes just around few seconds . The sky view has a museum explaining the whole gigantic structure and the guiness record it holds.
The shopping centers on the ground floor is time well spent

If you decide to go in the morning I suggest an early arrival to avoid lines. Enter through Dubai mall. Beautiful views. We booked for 9am ( got there early at 830am ) went right up but still eating in lines. When we done and got out there was a long line already . Early arrival!

Amazing view from the top. It is a busy attraction but is definitely worth the wait. You should try to aim to visit at around lunchtime early afternoon as there can be poor visibility in the morning due to fog and mist. Conveniently located at the Dubai mall the entrance is well sign posted and easy to get to. The light show and water fountains at night are beautiful and a must see.
