Our friends from Sucre bought the Carne salteñas from this cafe which makes them and chicken (pollo) exclusively. We enjoyed them at his house & so we decided to find the place ourselves for breakfast one morning. It was only a little over a block from our hostel & should have been easy to find but with our limited wifi and two different instructions from two different people - we got there in the end. We took note of other comments from travellers & got there in good time, ordered & paid the cashier tucked in a little booth on the left as we entered the restaurant. We didn't actually see her when we arrived & got a surprise when she spoke to us. I guess we were focused on people waiting at a counter where their takeaway orders were being fulfilled. We only had the chicken -as it turned out not from the same place our friends bought theirs from. The flavour was nice but not nicer than the ones we had a couple of days prior. The Carne ones we had prior were also nice - not at all spicy which pleased my hubby. Coffee arrived promptly along with hot milk. We did ask for hot water which didn't arrive initially but had no trouble getting it. The place had a constant stream of people coming & going buying takeaway salteñas and there were also other diners. Outdoor dining was pleasant. At 38bs for 3 salteñas & 2 coffees they were certainly cheaper than what we would pay for the coffee on its own at home so we're ok with the price.
