A husband and wife run the 2 Nagomi Sushi restaurants in Ann Arbor. I prefer the ambiance of the North Campus location, and probably eat in or get take out at least once a week. Their prices are reasonable, the quality and variety are excellent, and on Thursdays there's live jazz that pairs especially well with food, hot sake, and friends. For a smooth, mellow experience.
I love the Miso Ramen and the Agedashi Tofu appetizer. My favorite rolls would be the Salmon on the Beach, the Wolverine, the California and the spicy tuna. There is a huge selection.
The only drawback to this place is the service. The female owner is one of the best servers I've ever seen, but her American floor staff are not as meticulous or attentive, and oddly, they are all somewhat shy and unassertive. The restaurant hired a few new servers in 2018, and service seems to be improving somewhat.
