Stayed here for a couple nights while we explored Angkor.... its truly a fabulous find. the pictures looked great but they really do not do it justice! Its one place I can say actually looked better than the pictures... i was shocked!

the area is a bit further than some places are to central SR and the Angkor parks but that's really only a difference of maybe 2 min on a tuktuk which they provide free of charge from the hotel (have to get your own back if you do not ask them to stay, it's a $2-3 from Night Market area)...

the pool is great (has a shallow side and a big drop to a deeper side (about 4.5 feet).... was a great hit with my kids....

the restaurant is nice and we ended up eating most of our meals there...

the staff on site were helpful almost to a fault, they would walk you to your tuktuk to say goodbye, so sweet and friendly, every last one of them :) definitely made us feel like family.

only minor hiccup was our transportation... we were 5 people with some luggage (one large case)... i explained this, but they still sent one tuk tuk to collect us (not my favourite way to travel with luggage, but by this time i'd learned to go with the flow), but there's no way we were doing 2 adults, 2 teens and a child with 4 cases (one large) in a single tuktuk...

i think the option should be available for a proper taxi transfer, especially for families coming in late at night with luggage... even if it was a $$$ add on, i think it would be good to provide.... we waited for about 20 min for another tuk tuk and got to our room eventually :) and from there, we were pleasantly surprised...

we managed to get 2 tuktuks for our departure to the Giant Ibis station where we took the night bus to Phnom Penh (yet another interesting form of transportation :) )

all and all, loved Le Chantou... staff and rooms were amazing :)

Pros

The staff here were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Song. There are free tuk tuks into the centre and one can be arranged for a trip to Angkor Wat (they will also make a breakfast for you to take away). The breakfast is really good. The room and bed were amazing. On our last day I was a bit ill so they let us check out late for free.

Cons

Only very small criticisms. On one day there were not enough beds by the pool, but it was fine for the other two. Also water pours out of little elephant statues which can be annoying after a while if you want some peace and quiet. The computer by reception is also very slow to the point it can hardly be used and needs updating/upgrading. The wi-fi could also cut out occasionally but was mostly good. Our room was a little dark, even with the lights on, but that's about it.

The hotel was very clean and beautiful. The location was a little difficult to explain to the local tuktuk but after showing them the hotel card with the maps, they know the area and can manage to drive you there. Hotel also provide one e-waste transfer to the city area for free. The staff was always available with all the tourists information and even went out buying a mask for me without charging anything.
The food was really great. Cambodia food taste amazing and the price was fairly reasonable. Really enjoyed staying here and highly recommend for anyone who want some quiet time in Siem Reap.

Stayed here on my first trip to Siem Reap and was duly impressed. After a long day trekking through Angkor Wat and the various markets, it was refreshing to come back to the hotel and actually be able to relax in the room or on the balcony or by the pool. Quiet and secluded, but not out of the way, the staff really tries to help you plan your day and stay. Great selections for breakfast and delicious little kitchen.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view of the pool also get great sunset views. No elevators, so if disinclined to walk choose the ground floor.
