“Fantastic!!!! Great value for money and wonderful Staff”
Reviewed 30 September 2011

Boutique Hotel which is 9 months old with only 29 rooms and still finding their feet. Wouldn't pass up the chance to spend time here. Staff are incredibly enthusiastic and attentive. They are still working on their menu and breakfast is high quality with western and local options. You will not starve. Coffee is drinkable!!! Hard to find in Cambodia. Rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. Bathrooms were a good size with all the mod cons. Children were welcomed and automatically provided options outside the set menu such as hot chocolate. Pool and Bar area extremely inviting and we felt that we could spend the whole day swimming, lazing and drinking cocktails.

No negatives to be found. Although, keep in mind this is a training hotel so there may be minor issues for example English with the wait staff. Overall, you will find this an extremely welcoming hotel where nothing is too much trouble.

Room Tip: No lifts and is three stories. Choose ground floor if stairs is an issue.

This is as good as any expensive 5-star hotel I have stayed in but without any of the pretension. The staff were so wonderful and helpful and made us feel like they truly cared about our experience. It was in a great location, near many other fancy hotels but off of the main road so there is no road noise. It is not right in town but they make it easy to be connected to town and the temples. They also have great perks like a free airport shuttle, a huge free breakfast, and a free evening shuttle to go into town to visit the night market or to go out to dinner. I could not believe how nice this place was for the price. It was by far our favorite place that we stayed during our 3 week tour of Asia.

Great hotel. It's a boutique hotel with about 30 rooms and a nice garden. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very spacious room with private balcony. It's a bit out of town but I considered that to be a plus for this hotel. Great value for money.

The reception was flawless with warm staff to greet us with cold towels and cold drinks. We had booked online and check in was quick and trouble free. The architecture of the resort was wonderful with plenty of wood used very tastefully. The room was spotless the beds very comfortable with good quality bedding, the bathroom was beautiful, very clean and with good fittings. The set breakfasts that came with the room (choice of either American or Asian) were good. The only two flaws I could find were that there was no lift (it is a three-storied building) so we had to climb two flights of stairs each time we returned from breakfast or outings, and on the last day the water from the heater was not very hot.and the water pressure was low. It is about ten minutes to Angkor Wat and to Pub Street and the resort arranges transport if you wish. We had hired a Toyota Camry for four of us from Phnom Penh airport where we landed. For the five days trip to and fro from PP to Siem Reap and tour of Angkor War and outlying temples, plus the Killing Fields and Toul Sleng Genocide Museum in PP, the fare was US$280/- which we thought was reasonable. The car and driver was at our disposal for the five days we were in Cambodia.

Good:
quiet
great atmosphere
great staff
great breakfast (included)
semi-rural setting
good facilities

Bad:
a little out of town (can also be a plus - which it was for me)
pricey food/drinks, laundry

I lived in SR for a few months and know the hotel situation pretty well. This place is great value for money - extremely hard to find better for what you get!
A fantastic place about 15 minutes tuk tuk from town. A very attractive setting with friendly and attentive staff. You can borrow a bike (the areas is very flat and great for cycling (also keeps the tuk tuk and motodop guys from constantly harassing you). Has a swimming pool, attractive rooms with balcony - with a nice rural view. Very quiet - no noise from traffic, ktv or other - unlike most places.
The breakfast was great - 4 courses - the best meal of the day. They can also do a great Khmer set lunch/dinner for a reasonable price. However, the typical restaurant and mini bar prices were quite high, and the laundry prices were very high.

Minor stuff:
All rooms have a connecting door - which needs to be better soundproofed.
Cleaning is run by security - though reasonably clean, the standards could be higher.

In sum:
A great place to hang out for a few days - though you will want to stay much longer.

Return visit?
Absolutely! Can't wait:)

Room Tip: corner rooms are best

We stayed there for 3 nights in the beginning of July 2011.

The hotel is quite new and the rooms are nice and spacious with a balcony facing towards greenery. The decor is dark wood and seems very luxurious for such a small (and to be honest, not that expensive) hotel!

The hotel is located in a quiet spot away from the main road about 10 mins drive from the city center.

Breakfast has a choice between Continental, American and Asian spread and it was generously served! Coffee was nice and drinkable!

The staff was very helpful, though there were a few language barriers! We had a few drinks by the pool and service a bit slow, but nice drinks and snacks!

I will definitely recommend to anyone going to Siem Reap to have their base at La Tradition D'angkor.

it look like a king palace than the hotel. it provide all personal service and private atmosphere. Best relaxing place during my 3 weeks traveling in Asia. If you prefer to be treated as a king during your trip to Siem Reap, choose hotel you will feel fantastic. i definitely come back to this hotel in next few years or i will not hesitate to recommend it to my friends.

Room Tip: Tuk Tuk is the best choice for Angkor Wat tour.
