Description: An oasis for our guests and a safe place for our «family», the trainees and staff. Located in the heart of Siem Reap, but away from the hustle and bustle of Pub Street, we offer you a beautiful haven to relax and indulge. While enjoying a dish from our special selection of flavourful Asian and Western food – including some Swiss specialties and many fresh vegetarian tidbits – you are supporting our training programme and are thereby helping disadvantaged young adults to achieve a secure and independent future.

Haven is just superb! The food is excellent and we ate here twice during our stay in Siem Reap. The restuarant has a great atmosphere and gentle background music that will have you feet tapping. On each of our visits the service from staff and trainees was the best we experienced in SR and the food was high quality fare at ridculously low prices. I would recommend you try this place at least once while in town and when yousee how cheap the bill is remeber to leave a large tip. Every penny goes toward training the locals and providing skills for a better life. Eating here beats giving money to people on the streets and helps in a more structured way that benefits the country a its people for a long time into the future. Great place and great work by all concerned.

Please, please, please make the effort to look beyond Pub Street as this has to be the best eating place in SR if you are looking excellent quality food at a very reasonable price. The menu is not over large which makes it much easier to choose if you are new to Cambodia or SEA (quantity of dishes over quality seems to be the norm in most places). The staff are polite and there to help you if you need them and not constantly hovering over you. Haven has a good atmosphere for a family or group meal or an intimate dinning experience for couples as the tables are not crowded together to give you the feeling of your own space. Go there, you will not be disappointed!

What a great restaurant ! Dined here with my partner. The decor is smart with great detail. We had a great welcome from one of the trainees...a good start. Shown to our table and ordered two beers...ice cold ! The owners / manager were visible Managing their staff and running the restaurant which was nice to see. The trainee was polite and took our food order, it was great to see the teaching put in to practise. We ordered veg spring roll and and vegetable tempura, fantastic, hot, beautiflly presented and as expected. Main course: fish and chips, WOW the best in siem reap and tofu amok. We had previously eaten in the sugar palm the night before and had their amok which they advertise as the best in siem reap......sorry guys but Haven was the best as far as i was concerned ...ask for it spicey. All in all a FAB restaurant with good ethos and a relaxed but yet cool atmosphere (loved the music) the toilet was spotlessly clean. I was very moved by their whole concept, these guys have allot of passion and it shows. You can see and feel their dedication to this project and I wish them all the success in the world. Well done guys your hard work shows and well done to the trainees and kitchen staff.....you have great teachers!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish you all the luck in the world but some how I don't think you need it. I look forward to returning. Peace xx

Food was good but not as amazing as the reviews here made it out to be. It was well presented, with good portions but lacked the real flair of a top quality restaurant. It seems there is a very well equipped kitchen inside but I think it required some leadership and craftsmanship within the kitchen to really bring out the best of the ingredients, and the kitchen staff. The ambience was really nice, most customers chose to sit outside on the dirt and gravel, god knows why as the indoor decor was beautiful.

The ethical restaurant is an admirable idea, but I wonder if the staff are paid a fair wage and not just given accommodation, food and education. I do hope so.

Value-wise unfortunately other restaurants on tripadvisor do offer better value. Understandably in order to run a restaurant which also caters to the employees' accommodation and educational needs there are additional costs compared to conventional eateries, but that isn't really the point here, we just want excellent food at a bargain!

Mango salad at $3.75 is too much, and spring rolls for $3.50 (4 pieces) was very high for local standards, so locals are priced out!

I hope the two owners are not offended, but take this review as constructive criticism to improve the quality of the fare, so they can start producing top quality chefs who can eventually handle the rigours of working in a busy restaurant.

We’re not offended by your review, but honestly don’t see it as constructive either. We put a lot of effort in making HAVEN a wonderful, kind and secure place for our trainees and permanent staff - as well as our guests.

We (the owners & manager) are always at HAVEN and are more than happy to talk about the training program, the very qualified craftsmanship in our kitchen, the salaries and all the extras our trainees and staff get. We have nothing to hide or to be ashamed of and we appreciate real interest from our guests. There’s nothing like a good chat, as this is always interesting for both sides and much better then hinting wrong assumptions afterwards.

We’re sorry our food didn’t satisfy your expectations. We truly believe we offer excellent food for very fair prices. And of course eating at HAVEN supports our training program. After all, this restaurant was set up only for the one reason: to give young adult orphans a work training and therefore a real chance in life. Anyone who wants to support this purpose, does that by eating here and in return gets treated with our yummy food and lovely service. If that is not what someone is looking or aiming for, then there are enough other places to go to.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed eating at Haven.

We first decided to go to Haven to support a good cause (Haven offers waiting/chef training for local orphans), little did we know that the food was going to be so good too! We really enjoyed the fresh spring rolls, the mixed satay, the amok and the yellow bean cake. Yummy!

The restaurant managers are Swiss, so as expected the place runs like clockwork and the kitchen is immaculately clean (which we liked because we have delicate western stomachs).

Good value. Pleasant setting. Menu has some western delicacies too.

Enjoy!
