Incredible temple and so large but so are the crowds. I wouldn't miss it but don't forget the other temples as they are just as impressive. The sunrise over Angkor Wat was a little disappointing due to the cloud cover.

You hear so much about a place beforehand that when you get there it can be a let down NOT SO with Ankor Wat. The sheer size of the place is mind blowing and to think a civilisation built this years ago without all the so called modern technology we have today is incredible.
Yes the area gets very crowded and you will need some stamina to walk and scale the place and the heat can be intense so bring water and a good hat.
Our 3 day pass cost 62USD and is extremely quick to organise and if you can hire a local guide as they can give you lots of information about the temple.
They do limit the number of people (100 at a time)who can access the inner temple but it was quick and well organised.
One huge disappointment was when we reached the top some people had graffitied one of the stone pillars (imbeciles)
So glad that we went and enjoyed the day.

Angkor Wat are the most beautiful and famous in siem and cambodia and people there are so friendly and lovely, you can see sunset and sunrise there, been there many times I still love to go there more, everytime visit there I have to spend from 3hrs to 5hrs there.

You need to wear appropriate temple attire which just means no sleeveless shirts or pants above the knee. We went early but so did lots of others. Heat and humidity in the middle of the day is stifling. Be sure to bring extra water. Amazing carvings and architecture. Some steep stairs without handrails. We didn’t go to the top due to the long line. There are other temples that aren’t as crowded. (Angkor Thom for one.) Anyway the temple complex is huge. We took a minivan to get from one temple to the next. If you’re just exploring and browsing, the nearest toilet at Angkor Wat is a 2 hour walk. Pond with lotuses is nice. The market at the end kinda ruined the ambiance.

As recently voted by Tripadvisor readers as one of the top things to do in the world, this incredible series of Temples are a must visit. However, choose your time wisely (better to come as early as possible) as tourists visit this UNESCO site en-masse, instantly eradicating as tranquillity or moments of calm - make sure you pick up your tourist pass beforehand as you will get checked
