As remarkable as each and every temple in the Angkor Wat area was, our favorite was this one, Preah Khan. Preah Khan is just northwest of the Angkor Thom city. It is not on every tourist's itinerary which makes it more enjoyable. You will not have to fight the crowds that the more popular Angkor Wat and Ta Prohm receive. The reliefs here are still in pretty good shape. You will get all of the great visual effects of trees growing from the temple walls etc.... but the whole place is in better shape than Ta Prohm (Tomb Raider). We spent about an hour here. It's best and easier for you if you enter either from the west or east and have the tuk-tuk or car pick you up on the opposite side.
