Few weeks ago, Damrei was about to host its Grand Opening the next day. I was just walking past this stretch of the road as a nosey tourist, took some photos of the nice setup at the courtyard. A group of helpers putting together Christmas and Grand Opening materials at the tentage spotted me and welcomed me in for a walk!
The staff here were warm and friendly, and one of the contacts who came over from Phnom Penh even invited and walked me around for an introduction of the facilities and decor of the interior to me. As I remarked that the interior finishings to the spa finishing, poolside facilities and restaurant were meticulous and of thoughtful taste, the lady shared that the owner is also a designer! Right down to the details of the toilet signages, there is a story and interesting bits of thought :)
I always think travelling is about understanding the stories of things that you see and feel... the encounter here is definitely one of those good memories.
This stretch of the town is relatively quiet and off the road, so perhaps getting bicycles would be good. I am sure the warm service and cosy, minimalistic, comfortable-looking rooms would make it a good experience! The poolside looks new and good, with cocktail menu available for order.
Congrats on your grand opening!
