We just returned from our trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. We stayed at the Tara Angkor for 3 nights. This was the one hotel on our trip that we had no worries about because the reviews on TA were so consistently good. However, it turned out to be a sour disappointment. Don't get me wrong, the staff is incredibly kind and helpful. It's a beautifully appointed property. However, if you have any health issues relating to mold - you will want to reconsider staying here. We checked into room 128 and could smell the mold immediately. It was visible in the bathroom. We moved to room 101 and it was worse. Then we looked at room 102 - mold, again. Finally we stayed in room 105 where there was visible mold in the bathroom but at least it was tolerable. It appears to be an issue with the shower/bathtubs and poor air circulation. Now, if you don't mind a musty smell or have no allergy issues - then perhaps this wouldn't have been a problem for you. But that leads me to the issue with the ants. We spotted one on our bed and then another on the basket of fruit that was in our room. I had a piece of fruit and rinsed the dish I'd used. When I returned later, the dish was covered in ants. Also, the coffee pot was covered in ants. I'm an easy going, low maintenance traveler. I'd felt terrible about having to change rooms so often because of the mold. I let them know about the ants and I'm sure they were attended to but by that point - we just wanted to get out of there. We had to call twice to have our rooms made up (at 4pm) and the breakfast buffet was fair. If we could have logistically changed hotels we would have done so.

Stayed here for 3 nights in December.. Have to say was very impressed with hotel
Very efficient staff throughout, good food though slightly pricey
Trip into town was short and only couple of dollars as was the temples
Wi-fi was so-so but free
Pool area was really nice and relaxing and also had a decent gym/sauna area too
Bar was nicely set out but maybe tried a little too hard but snacks were reasonably priced and filling
Overall a good stay and would certainly recommend to those viewing the fantastic temples nearby

Lovely hotel in a good location. Staff helpful, we enjoyed the beautiful pool area. Lunch and breakfast also good. 5 minutes by tuk tuk to the town centre and well situated for the temples. Don't miss going out in the evening to the centre of Siem Reap, the staff will call you a tuk tuk and it is not at all like a tuk tuk in Bankok. The centre of town is lively, big choice of restaurants with excellent food.

Excellent service, clean, good breakfast, front desk people was really nice. I will be back anytime.
The spa was amazing. Service on the restaurant was excellent, good sized pool and clean. The hotel was happy to store our bags after check-out and kindly offered us access to the pool facilities so we could shower and change before our midnight flight.

Cool and lemon-scented, this lovely hotel has style, excellent food and charming staff. An excellent location for both town and Angkor Wat. No hesitation in recommending this hotel, - we would love to revisit in the future.
