This is a small basic boutique style hotel just south of the main government and banking area of Douala-Bonanjo. It is a good location for those having business at the port or at one of the many government offices located nearby. No frills, but very CLEAN and great value. Private enclosed parking.
Hotel has about 25 rooms, divided into three classes: basic = (50,000CFA roughly $100 as of Nov 2011), junior = 60000CFA, senior =70000CFA. All rooms spotlessly clean--the hotel is only about a year old. Difference between the rooms: small size differences, basic room does not have a safe, and the senior rooms have two upholstered chairs in a very small "living" area adjacent to the bed. All rooms have self-controlled air conditioning, cable TV, and internet (wired).
Hotel has a basic restaurant with bar. Nothing fancy, but clean/modern/and accessable. Menu (not tried) is simple but looks good, e.g. some straight beef, chicken, and fish dishes like beef brochette and fries. Bar was stocked with basic liquors and beers.
Private parking in an enclosed garage underneath the hotel.
Pros: great location in a quiet, safe neighborhood. VERY CLEAN. Reasonable prices. Private parking. Very good local restaurants nearby on Avenue Charles de Gaulle (Restaurants Chinoise, La Provencal, and Le Boj all within reasonable walking distance).
Cons: not a party hotel--neighborhood is very quiet. No swimming pool. This is primarily for businessmen who want a very clean, new hotel with a decent restaurant but without the frills.
