The hotel is located next to west lake are of fuzhou which is a beautiful area to stay in! The beds are extremely firm it hurts to sleep in them! The horel is nice and clean and has big rooms! Some bars located near by also children's playland in the westlake park! The location is excellent except for the beds! No english at all! Black out curtains are just average! In room safe! Nice big bathrooms, nice walkable quiet area!

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main new wing!

The new wing of this hotel was completed in 1999 and it is very beutiful! The rooms are big and spacious! Beds are firm for western standards but hotel can place extra quilts on the bed for padding! Black out window shades are average, wifi is very good! The location of the hotel is excellent next to a beutiful lake and park and many bars! Hotel also located next to lakeside hotel which currently undergoing renovations!

The most disappointing thing is the extra quilt in the room. Dirty with stain, no quilt cover at all and the quilt is not skin friendly at all... The one room service sent later is accetable. Bed is a bit hard for me. The requestable buckwheat pillow is just a normal pillar with about 10 seeds of buckwheat.
The facility is a bit old. Fine enough. Always have a tea set in the room in Fujian province. Next to the plank walk along the lake. Walkable to san fang qi xiang historical streets. Quite some foods to explore arround. Breakfast belo average. outdoor swimpool on top of building. View outsite window is just city building view.
A/C and wifi avaialable. shower not bath.

It didn't start well - they checked me into room 1107, fine enough... until a man came in. It was his room! Phone calls in Chinese, maid knocking at door speaking Chinese - was moved to room 1108. Thankfully this all happened in the afternoon and I had not unpacked.
The room was good enough, comfortable beds and linen. Good bathroom towels. OK shower. Meals were all in the dining room - but had to get there early or nothing left! The breakfast was best, lunch nothing left at 12.30, dinner OK. Tried to look for a bar to meet some friends and have a drink - nothing in the hotel. Nearby nothing opened till after 8 pm and it took some considerable efforts just to find a place with a beer. So, overall an OK experience. Don't know if I would return. Nice enough location and things could have been very good. But only good.

Room Tip: Try to be on lakeside.

Very Chines, but not because of maintainig traditions, but simply this hotel is not really prepared for international guests. No English and no continental breakfast. The receptionists speak good Chinese and if you ask something from them, then they call someone by phone, who speaks three words of English. But he understands none. There is no bar in the hotel and it takes a while to figure out how to control the TV if you are not very good in reading the Chinese instructions. For all these luxuries better you book a room in the neighboring Lakeside ***** hotel, where the prices are also *****.
But.
The rooms are clean, the bathrooms are up to the standard what the **** promise. There is a wide variety of Chinese food for breakfast and everything is reasonable. For me, this is value for money.

Room Tip: The higher you go, the better view you have...
