The hotel is nicely furnished, and room size is fairly good. Surrounding not much amenities, and service is somewhat not up to mark. Nice infrastructure with 4 stars service. It's about 1 hour from airport , and breakfast selection are good

Where do I begin, well for one thing the hotel is in a private park, next to (with a private gate) to the central West Lake park which is an all day walk if you choose. The hotel is spotless, the gardens immaculate and there are even herons and eagles nesting in the pond area at the back of the hotel. Talk to the Concierge about the private gate. Most of the staff speak at least some English so no problems there. The breakfasts are excellent, a buffet with good coffee or espresso and Chinese or western foods. The dinner buffet is also excellent with fresh seafood and beef cooked to order for the basic price of about $35 per person. The rooms are spotless, very comfortable, and the AC works very well. Plenty of luxury here and a very comfortable home feel.

This was once the official hotel for the highest ranking Communist party members visiting Fuzhou so the grounds are quiet for a center old city location, the design is a result of party reception demands so the pool and athletic facilities are in the next building.

Visit the West Lake park through the private gate, when you come back in push the button on the intercom and speak your name and room number. The security guards will check your room card after you enter and close the gate behind you. They are very careful.

Western travellers in China will know that Chinese hotels can be strange and challenging at times. This hotel by the lake is however of a high standard with very nice large clean rooms and staffed by quite a few folk who can speak pretty good English. Well worth staying there if you have to be in Fuzhou. The swimming pool is a hike away.

A large comfortable quality hotel near the lake. Rooms were modern and well appointed. Staff were ok however don't expect a working knowledge of English with every front line staff member ... This is fine and should be expected outside of the main tourism cities.

Beautiful lobby and DREADFUL "service". They seem surprised to have guests. The water in the room is labeled "undrinkable" but there is no bottled water for tooth brushing or making tea in the hotpot provided. The fine dining restaurant has a menu in Chinese only and they refused to serve a westerner, shooing me to the buffet where my choice a la carte was limited to a soggy club sandwich paired with chilly greasy french fries. Yum!

The design of the facility is bad. Beautifully decorated, but non functional. I am in the VIP building, which is several hundred yards from the main building. There are NO staff here. To find anything (water for example) I must hike up the hill to the sole bellboy and try to act out drinking water. We tried to order room service but ..... yeah, you get the picture. Stay somewhere else.

Room Tip: Stay in the main building, at least there is one bellboy
