I spent 3 nights at the hotel and had no issues at check-in nor with the room. It was a fairly large room with a king size bed, a choice of English language programming on the TV and free internet connection. I got an internet room that came with it's own desktop PC but used my own laptop anyway. No issues whatsoever with the connection - it was great. Best part about the room was that there wasn't the typical hallway noise that is pretty common with hotels in China.

I tried to use the swimming pool twice but didn't manage to each time as I was told they had run out of locker keys. Apparently, they limit the number of users to the number of lockers they have in the changing room. As the pool is open to locals who join the hotel gym as members, I was told to avoid the pool and gym during peak hours (lunchtime, 5-9pm).

Overall, I had a pleasant stay although I would be trying out the Holiday Inn located right in the middle of town my next trip. The Jinjiang is a good 15 minute brisk walk from town and while nice for a first timer to wander the streets of Hohhot, I'd prefer to be closer to the conveniences found in the city centre for future stays.

The Jinjiang International was a very nice stay! I recently spent 2 nights there on a business trip to Hohhot and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. The hotel is huge and central location is quite good, within walking distance to numerous restaurants, shops, and attractions. There are quite a few shops on the street below the hotel selling cheap cold drinks so you don’t have pay outrageous prices at the mini-bar. The lobby is fairly grandiose with seating and a bar.

The rooms are very nice, quite large compared to most rooms I’ve stayed in, containing either a king size or 2 queen size beds. The rooms are spotlessly clean, well maintained, and the furniture is nice and modern. There are several non-smoking floors so you can escape the China reek. The large flat-screen TV with English language programming was great. Most of the rooms have good views out over the city streets and the large picture windows allow plenty of light in the room. No problem with hallway noise or street noise. The rooms have a nice computer desk with UPS and very fast internet connection. The bathroom was large as well, with separate bath and shower enclosures. The large picture window separating the bathroom from the bedroom was a nice touch, allowing you to see the TV from the bathtub.

I didn’t get a chance to use most of the hotel facilities except for the gym. The gym was great, one of the better ones I’ve seen in China. There are good quality machine weights, free weights, and 6 good cardio machines. I had some great workouts here.

Check-in and check-out went smoothly and service seemed to be above average for China – a nice surprise. A complimentary fruit and yogurt basket was delivered to my room which made for a nice breakfast. The hotel was extremely busy during my stay but the staff seemed to cope with it fairly well.

Overall, I thought that this hotel was great value for RMB 600. It is hard to find anything wrong with this hotel and I very much enjoyed my stay here and will stay here again on future trips to Hohhot. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other travellers.
