The hotel is situated in a not so interesting part of Suzhou. The reception staff was welcoming and nice. Yet the hotel overall gives a run-down, slightly decaying impression.
First we opted for a suite, but on inspection it turned out to be nearly windowless, too little for such a big place. Thus we changed to two rooms.
Both rooms stank of cigarette smoke - despite being a non-smoking hotel, ashtrays were provided. The hallway was dark and underlit. The rooms were of medium cleanliness, some towels were disgusting.
The lobby bar was always closed. Everything seemed to be covered with a layer of grime and dust.
The breakfast was ok, but the floor was slippery from oil and dirt.
Thus overall this cannot be really recommended (though I slept well).More
