It is located in the central part of town & accessible to the subway, shops and restaurants. It is a " pedestrian only " street, therefore; you need to be dropped off & walk about a short block to the entrance of the hotel. It is a small, quiet hotel with about 35 rooms and three floors. Upon entering - you are greeted with a cold grass jelly dessert & bellboy will help you to carry your luggage up to our 2nd floor room.(No elevators - just stairs only) There is a nice sitting area outdoor in the center of the hotel. Breakfast area is a small room with hot breakfast - made to order dumplings, wonton and limited western choices. Rooms are decorated with rosewood chairs & window screens - bathroom is large in size, but the distance between the shower door and toilet is very narrow. (About 6 inches to walk in/ out of the shower - large person not too good) The wash basin is unique and shaped like a porcelain bowl. The rooms are like going back in the days of old China - very relaxing and quiet environment. Clerks are very professional and cordial - always greeting us when we come in or out with 2 hands clasped together. The bellboys are very efficient to carry our luggages even early in the morning (5:00am) and escorting us in the rain with a umbrella in hand to cover us awhile waiting for our driver. If you can't make it to breakfast, you may request a take-out bag which consist of hard boiled egg, tofu drink, mini-pastry and apple. This hotel is in a very tranquil setting, which help you to relax at the end of the day of touring.

We loved this place. Although the building is quite recent, significant efforts have been made to give it a traditional feel with a couple of internal patios decorated with a 4-faced Buddha statue, or a little zen garden. The rooms are spacious, in particular the family room has a little extra sitting room and a nice balcony.

The staff is extremely helpful and friendly.

The place is just a couple of minutes walk from a convenient metro station. No construction noises when we were there mid.Aug. Excellent restaurants nearby (see my reviews here).

While the wonton made to order at breakfast were really nice (you can order noodles or eggs too), the overall selection of items at the breakfast buffet could be a bit more varied.

But I definitely recommend this place!

A peaceful small boutique hotel in traditional authentic building in old part of city with modern facilities. Great location to visit Wenshu temple and old original streets and restaurants nearby as well as the newly converted small shopping streets. The hotel restaurant also serves a good choice of Sichuan dishes if you prefer to just relax at the the hotel. Enjoyed a quiet sunset beer on the roof terrace patio overlooking the temple rooftops. Many of the staff speak pretty good English and all of the staff were welcoming and helpful. Will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Chengdu.

With only 32 rooms and a beautiful zen design, this hotel is a gem. It is located in an older part of Chengdu, away from the skyscrapers, malls and crowds that define most Chinese cities now. The monastery across the street is a green oasis and a lovely spot for tea or a vegetarian buffet or hot pot at lunch. It rained like crazy when we were there but our room was cool and comfortable--especially the bed! Really good food in the restaurant, too.

Room Tip: Ask for an exterior room--interior rooms look onto the courtyard.

I really felt like I was in China, hotel felt authentic and is right in the middle of the paved market area. Service was very good. Close to the train station and an easy bus ride to the Panda Sanctuary.

Room Tip: no lifts so if trouble climbing stairs ask for lower floor
