Review of Ningbo Zoo

Ningbo Zoo
Reviewed 11 March 2017

not many animals very run down and dirty. This is the worst zoo I have ever been too. I was very sad for the animals there. If you want to spend a few hours looking at some animals in a bad environment go here and you will leave sad.

Nice day out, especially on the sunny day. Some parts of the zoo were undergoing renovation so have not seen all of it. Think that animals are well looked after.

Luckily on a free day I had my local friends take me here. They had not been either and it turned in to a highlight of my trip!! This is a GREAT zoo. Spent 6 hours there and never got tired or bored. Can get unsually close to some of the animals. Beautifully landscaped and easy map to follow to ensure sightings of all animals. Truly enjoyable!

A crowded place if you go in the weekend. It is a very big place and hard to finish. The tiger area was a bit disappointing. Not so many food options too. It is worth a visit.

We went here on a drizzly Saturday. It was a bit more expensive than we thought it would be, 130 RMB for an adult, 70 for a child. However, a year pass is only 400 for adults and 200 for children. Anyway, once we got inside and saw the quality and health of the animals, we thought it was definitely worth it. Many animals had a great habitat. Maybe 20% of the animals had less than desirable conditions, but most were good. We were impressed by the number of animals, too. Six tigers, six lions, at least that many black bears, etc, so it's easy to see the animals and you can get relatively close to them. Going there, don't be confused - there is an old Ningbo Zoo downtown - this is the Ningbo Youngor Zoo 宁波雅戈尔动物园 east of town.
