This place is impeccably maintained, has super friendly staff (most speak excellent English), and charming, well-kept rooms. I would recommend it to anyone visiting. Also, the door is look after sundown and security is tight, making this a very safe place with excellent location to see the old city.

Loved this little hotel in the heart of Cartagena's walled old city. Don't miss the photos of the hotel pre-restoration. They really did save this place and restore it to its former glory. Everyone who steps inside can't help but immediately start taking photos of the courtyard with its brick archways, hanging vines, and small pool.

We had a suite with a balcony. Room was was clean, air conditioned and had a very large flat screen TV. Soap/shampoo/etc. provided. Warm shower with OK pressure.

Street was noisy at times--lots of honking, talking, etc.--but you also get to hear the horse carriages go by and stand outside and people watch. Balconies are shared with two other rooms on the same floor.

Staff was very friendly and connected us on a ride to Playa Blanca and also helped get a taxi for the airport. Breakfast was good but if you went late some things were gone and others weren't fresh (for example, the rice and lentils was dry/hard every day). Fresh fruit and juice was enjoyable, and they will make eggs upon request.

The hotel is a few blocks from two squares with restaurants/bars. Also nearby is a coffee shop (Juan Valdez) and a popsicle shop (La Paletteria).

Reservation system is a little odd. You email your credit card info to reserve the room, which doesn't seem very secure. However, I think it's typical of the area and we had no problems with payment once we were there.

Our ride to the hotel from the airport was only 10,000 Colombian pesos (a little over $3). Make sure you find the official taxi stand/window at the airport--they establish the price before you get in the cab.

Firstly, the location of the hotel right in the heart of the old town is simply superb. Not only does this allow for easy access to the old town, but if you like a walk, then 20 minutes away is the start of the larger hotel chains, shopping district and naval base.

The rooms are plenty large enough for two people, or if traveling solo like myself then you can spread out all you want.

Breakfast is not huge in range but it does the job, and when you are in such a wonderful area there is zero reason to stay indoors.

Staff are friendly and very helpful, with particular mention to Donovan - great attitude for a hospitality professional.

Tip for asking for a room is if you don't like stairs or are tired from hiking through Colombia, then ask for a lower floor as it is stairs only.

The people were really sweet and accommodating, especially the breakfast crew. The staff speaks minimum English enough to accommodate you, but very minimum. The location is fantastic in the walled city. Small boutique hotel with pool on ground level, closes at 7pm, but rooms are beautiful, a/c worked perfect, flat screen with HBO in English was a nice touch. however wifi only in common areas. cabs run right in front 24 hrs, easy to find food and drinks. perfect location in walled city!!! everything you need is in the walled city.
