The good things: the staff. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice beach at the doorstep. Good cocktails.
The bad things: Overpriced menu and mediocre to bad quality food. A bowl of chunks of tomatoes with spaguetti: 32000COP! For goodness sake: it is just spaguetti badly made. We were recommended the churrasco: bad quality, chewy, overcooked. The areas by the pool s don't have parasols. The scorching sun will make you hide in your room. Only a few parasols on the beach. No kettle in the room or complimentary water: annoying. Tip: nearby there is an EXITO Express. Go there and buy water, sodas and snacks...cheaper! The hotel overcharges the ice creams, water, snacks. The hotel is 15minutes from downtown: there is no shuttle bus: big mistake! Get ready to pay 15000 or 20000COP each trip.

The hotel is by no means perfect: it is undergoing reparations and is isolated from the centre of Cartagena. However, we still enjoyed our stay there. The staff are incredibly friendly and will do anything they can to help. The hotel is also very large and there are many different pools to swim in.

English version at the bottom of the page.

ENGLISH VERSION

We stayed on the second floor of Tower B.

The room was very clean although we had some problems with the shower that were taken care of quickly by the maintenance staff.

We were 3 adults and a 4 year old girl, they accommodated us in two double beds that we joined to be more comfortable.

The room is already years old, but it is well preserved, the bathroom itself is remodeled.

Breakfast is very complete and you can also take it in the Torre del Mar restaurant which is the modern and most luxurious part of the hotel.

There are many swimming pools and children will always find something to do.

The beach is right in front of the hotel with direct exit.

On the beach, the hotel offers parasols and chairs, beach towels should be requested inside the hotel.

The products of the mini bar, as in most hotels, are expensive. In front of the hotel there is a supermarket where you can buy what you need.

In torre del mar there is a Juan Valdez coffee shop, where you can have a delicious coffee and buy souvenirs.

The transport to the walled city costs $ 5 in comfortable white vans.

The airport is very close.

You should be careful with the ladies who offer massage and not give them too much confidence, if you do not want the service, avoid talking to them and never let them do the free massage test, because after they charge it.

With the kids of the jet skis you should be more careful, agree from the beginning a price and ask for a discount. At the end of the tour they will use tricks like: it took 5 more minutes or spent a lot of gas to cheat him and charge him more than the agreed price. Do not fall into the trap, if necessary call the police or hotel security.

In general terms it was a very pleasant stay, the a la carte restaurant is expensive and with little variety and the lunch buffet costs 20 dollars.

The hotel servers very good dishes from the a la carte menu.
The buffets quality is low, breakfast is “ok” but otherwise I would not recommend it.

Prices are above average, quality is below average.

There is a nice beach, but lots and lots of people trying to sell junk and “tents” as the the hotel umbrellas are limited.
Sales prices on the beach for soda/ice you should settle before buying; otherwise they will give very very high prices. (Double)

Our hotel room had a semi broken aircondition, The room smelled like fungus, and there where mold spots on the curtains.

The pool area is ok, Lots of room (juli/2018) I imagine it to be rather crowded in high season.
Works very will with the towel service, you can swap as much as you like.

Transportation possibilities are good from the hotel to Cartagena city, there is a lot to see.

There is no mini market within the hotel facilities, but cabs can take you to one near by (2 minutes by car)

I could stay here again, the employee are very friendly and it is easy to get help when needed.

If I where to come back, I would go for a small suite or one with at least 2 rooms (2 adults and 2 kids)
