We spent a week here:
Pros: nice updated bar in lobby, 3 large pools, towel service, tour agency in house, clean, hot water, easy room service
Cons: it feels like it was once a great Las Vegas hotel with great amenities but now it doesn’t quite have the same cash flow so it’s a bit dated, the restaurant is fine but nothing special, by the end of the day the other guests have left garbage and drinks around the pool, you can’t walk to the old town, the “private” beach isn’t great
If I were to come to Cartagena again, I would get a hotel in the historic center or just outside it in a more trendy area. This area requires a (quick) taxi to do anything. And for the beaches I would stay at a hotel on the islands for 1 or 2 nights. I did 2 day trips because I wasn’t sure about the quality of the hotels on the islands but you might as well stay there instead taking a boat out twice.
Overall it’s a nice hotel, I’m sure if you have kids it makes sense since they have a pool and restaurant. More
