Rented the 38ft boat with red leather upholstery for 8 people. Arrecife were super easy to communicate with via What's App, quick responses. Paid the total in cash on the day of which was convenient (no need for credit cards, although this is an option). We had the boat from 8:30AM-4:00PM. Unfortunately you can't stay later out on the waters as the winds are too strong (we even offered to pay to stay out longer and they said it was too much of a safety concern - so these guys have your safety in mind!)
The boat is in great condition - looks exactly like the photos, not run down or anything. You can bring your own food and drinks. They have a massive cooler on board that had no problem storing all of our beers. Their sound system can play your own music from your device via bluetooth. We had a captain to drive the boat and another helper who would constantly be refilling our drinks! Boat came with snorkeling equipment which was great. I think they had fishing gear as well, but we didn't use it.
We went to the Rosario Islands first, then Cholon, then Playa Azul. Cholon (the "party" island) was dead (perhaps because we visited in off season), and it was kind of overrated - mediocre beach with a bunch of food/drink and souvenir stands set up expecting tourists. For lunch, we didn't want to eat at a busy overpriced tourist spot, so they took us to a part of beach owned by a hotel where we had delicious lobster (70,000 pesos) or fish (35,000 pesos)
The best part of this boat rental was the value! It would have cost us nearly the same price if we paid for a guided tour. Except the guided tour is worse - you're crammed on a speedboat with 30 other people, sitting in rows, no music, you have to go slow. We loved that we had the boat to ourselves, could play our own music, dance around, and have fun. We were able to tell the captain when to stop and when to go. When we were over crystal blue waters, we stopped to jump in and swim. When we got tired of an island, we asked to leave early.
Highly recommend Arrecife! Highlight of our trip in Colombia
