Metropolitan Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception is a Catholic cathedral in the heart of Medellin near the Bolivar Park. It is home of the Archbishop of Medellin. It is built by a French architect in a Latin cross design. Very impressive architecture. Adjacent to the basilica is a small museum but it was not open during our visit..

Beautiful cathedral! The artwork and architecture are amazing. The entire area is full of street vendors and shops. Great place to grab a bite and take in the sights. Put on your walking shoes and spend the day in and around Bolivar Park.

Very easy is to reach this place, but is should take precautions, i.e. not go alone and not go at night. The Church has hours to enter and they should be consulted before.
