Don’t stay at this resort. It reeked of cigaret smoke, had stained walls and carpets, plastic sheets on squeaky, uncomfortable beds, and views of trash-filled parking lots.

If you have a family, I do not recommend even going to Atlantic City. It’s not like it used to be, and it feels like a scene out of Zombieland (and not in a good way). It’s not even as cheap as you’d like to think. The boardwalk is just a bunch of head shops selling bootleg North Face and Adidas clothes, and creepy guys staring at young girls. The casinos are run down, the restaurants are mediocre, and the streets are swarming with sketchy characters.

It’s a real shame, because this resort is in a prime location and could be glorious. Atlantic City itself could be an awesome, East Coast Las Vegas, but they’ve really let it all turn to ruin. There are so many incredible, historic buildings, just looking like shambles, surrounded by garbage and potholes. Don’t go. You won’t be missing anything.

As others have posted here, I recommend Smithville for families, and then take a day trip to Six Flags Great Adventure. Smithville has great food, is charming, clean, feels safe and is totally family friendly. Great Adventure had super fun rides (way better than the boardwalk!) and is only about 90 minutes away.

We love the Atlantic Palace and have been coming here for years in the spring and again each summer. It is a wonderful family vacation spot and the facility is amazing. We love being right on the boardwalk.

The staff and facilities were great at the Atlantic Palace. In the year of the pandemic is was good to stay close to home so we wouldn't have to face any quarantine restrictions that might exist for traveling out of state. The rooms were spacious and well kept. Up and down the boardwalk there was lots of varied activities to keep us busy for the week. After being locked down for several months it was nice to finally get away.

I would just like to say. My wife and I have been coming to Atlantic Palace for the past 15 to 20 years. This is an older hotel, but away from the casinos. It is my understanding New Jersey allows people to smoke and posses Marijuana. We stayed on the 5th floor and all you could smell was marijuana, in the hallway by the elevator, even when we turned our vent on in the bathroom it smelled like marijuana. Sorry We dont smoke. Atlantic Palace went smoke free probably 10 years ago, this is unacceptable. I could careless if people smoke outside, but its just terrible. Secondly, they have washer and dryers on a few different floors all were out of order, the washer on the 9th floor had cockroaches in it. This hotel can do better. Staff were friendly, hand sanitizer everywhere, place was clean. So the experience overall was good, but again they can do better,

Have stayed before and will stay again. Rooms updated, great location and staff is professional. On boardwalk, near all and the Irish Pub is right across da street. You will not go wrong with this resort which has recently been upgraded
