Great setting with nature all about you on a comfortable outdoor patio (and indoor seating also, if you like). Hotel staff have clearly embraced the local flora and fauna as a major benefit to diners. Go for the setting, but beware the high prices and average food.

Food was good. Waitstaff someone inattentive. Atmosphere amazing. Lots of sea lions swimming around. Great View of the water. Marine iguanas wandering the deck right next to you. Nice ice cold beer. But don't miss the moro smoothies. They are made from a feral raspberry. And they are absolutely amazing.

We stayed in this hotel and had a meal package. I echo many of the other recent reviews of this restaurant. Lunches were average (although many items on the menu were not available) and breakfast was poor, with many of the platters and hot trays nearly empty. On our last day there it appeared that fresh cooked eggs were an option for some patrons however they were never offered to us. Service in the bar/restaurant was lacklustre at best.

The most aggravating issue was when we went down for dinner on our first night. The restaurant was empty and the staff were only focused on setting up the dining room and visiting among themselves. What we didn't realize when we came down was that the dinner that was being set up in the restaurant was for a private party. Only after I asked if we could order dinner was I told that we would have to eat outside (where it was cool and there were bugs) as the dining room was fully 'reserved'. No one mentioned that to us when we checked in. I asked to speak to a manager and was told he was not there. We left and went into town for dinner outside the hotel at our own expense where we had a nice meal with excellent service in sharp contrast to what we received at our own hotel. When we returned we were told that the manager was on the mainland. At that time the restaurant was full, which was the only time we saw more than 3 or 4 people in the restaurant on our visit!. Clearly this special function included patrons from outside the hotel who were prioritized over the hotel's own guests on a meal plan!!

There are way too many good restaurants in Peurto Aroyo....do yourself a favour and read the Trip Advisor reviews and try them out!

The sign at the entrance says "Restaurant and Sushi Bar," and since we were craving sushi, we decided to go there for dinner. The setting is quite nice, right on the water. That's where the positives end. The first hint of trouble was the menu - food and wine prices were outrageously high, as other reviewers have already mentioned. The service was painfully slow and inattentive. We went through two choices of wine before they finally found one that was in stock - naturally, a higher priced option. After she opened and poured the wine, she finally took our order. Sushi. Oops - sushi chef is not on duty this evening. Sorry, no sushi for you. One would think that a restaurant whose specialty is sushi would have a back-up sushi chef, and failing that, let their customers know at the outset that there would be no sushi that evening. Had we known, we wouldn't have gone through all the trouble with the wine. To be fair, I can't review the food, as we were so disgusted with the whole experience, we just packed up the wine and left.

It didn't have most of what they show in their menu. Food overpriced for its quality. They charge taxes but don't give out invoices. They say they'll send by email and doesn't happen. They told me they changed management a few years ago. That must be why they are not what they used to be. I visited this place back in 2007, 9 years later it's not the same.
