We stayed at 2 other hotels that both had pools and were very nice but when we arrived to check in around 2pm at the Angermeyer, we were greeted by reception with a cold washcloth and blackberry juice for each of us. The place seemed a bit deserted but the room was very large with a roomy shower and filtered water for our use. They do not have a pool but people swim in a deep area right near the restaurant (adult people we assume as this is the same area we sat and watched small sharks and puffer fish as we ate). We were told there were two beaches a short walk away. We took a boardwalk stroll about 1/4 mile to the beach in front of Hotel Finch Bay but signs then pointed an estimated 1 hr more to reach Las Grietas which we did not pursue. We did come back later to dine at the National Geographic restaurant (Finch Bay) via a lighted board walk from the Angermeyer. The Angermeyer's restaurant was empty. The water taxi is 80 cts/person and wasn't a problem at all as there are a lot of them always available from the main pier in Puerto Aroya. Breakfast was included with our stay and included an amazing buffet of high quality cheeses, meats, made-to-order dishes, sweet bread, fruit and anything you can think of....excellent.
