On the plus side: Good sized room with twin double beds. Writing table and two chairs. Hot shower with good pressure. Excellent location with easy walk to town centre and commercial area, Darwin Centre.....etc
Reasonable small breakfast, same everyday with fruit, eggs, toasted rolls, some cheese and jam. Good Galapagos Coffee :-)

Negative Side: Little upkeep / maintenance - pool area was tired, fading painted concrete with one small plastic table and chair, plus three plastic sun-beds. The restaurant was only open 06:30AM to 9:00AM with no further options to get any drink, food, coffee later in the day.
The pool side bar was empty and unused. Bathroom very small and in poor repair. Ancient TV wall-hung just below the ceiling - rather dirty and no attempt to tidy up cables. we were on 2nd floor and noisy machinery on roof often interrupted sleep.

Room safe needed new batteries - why not checked before arrival.

On check-in two issues - despite advance notice that we were no longer 1 person but 2,, they tried to charge us double the single room fee rather than a factor. After we argued they changed to charge a more acceptable 1.6 times single rate.

Also we were accused of stealing back $250 cash (on arrival part payment of our room). It hadn't got confrontational but very unpleasant - eventually I found the cash inside their file folder of reservations - that they had been showing us to 'prove' the rate for 2x.

Overall mediocre and for the length of time we were there we should have spent more for better - lesson learnt.

Room Tip: stay on ground floor - away from roof machinery

Arrived and all was well. We had made resv for that night. We asked manager if we could stay longer than one night and he stated that we could stay as long as we liked. NO problem. After touring the town and setting up some tours, we returned and the manager told us that we could only stay that one night and would have to leave in the next morning. Of course we also had to meet our tour the next morning. We had to leave luggage unguarded under the canopy. Upon our return the luggage was locked up and we had to find manager to unlock it. Super disappointed. Manager spoke little to no English and was not helpful at all. Bathroom was super tiny and beds were hard as a rock. They only get 1 star because there is no place for zero. Never stay there !!

Room Tip: choose another hotel to get a good room.

The Hotel is really close to the main turistic street. If you are not in a cruise and looking for a low cost, clean, and confortable place to stay... you should consider this hotel. One recomendation. If you are planning tours, dont do it with the summer vacation company. It is better to buy the tours directly from the several locations around the main street.

Greetings,

I enjoyed my stay here, very relaxing. The room was comfortable, close to the pool and the staff helpful. Specifically, I lost my key to the hotel room and the staff went out of their way to help me hunt down that key that I lost in the cave system at El Chato. Talk about stress and helpful resolution! My only disappointments were the television wasn't all that cooperative and the wifi a bit slow (but not a big deal overall when the purpose of your trip is to visit the beauty of the islands).

In summary, a great place for a solo travel to set up camp for a bit of island-hopping here. Cheers.
