Jaquline and Johnny, and their kids, 10 and 6, plus an infant, make this unique and lovey retreat in the Highlands, a few miles out of Puerto Ayora, very inviting and a nice change from intown hotels and density. Hearing roosters, birds, crickets and quiet and being surrounded by banana plants and other vegatation in part of Santa Cruz's extensive forest added a nice dimension to our stay. Every room has a view and a balcony, all comfortable, well airconditioned and clean. A shuttle is provided twice a day and you can catch a taxi for five bucks other times. Tours will pick you up here. Anita prepares a lovely breakfast with fresh fruits and eggs mostly from thier property. The Galapagos is almost compulsively protective of the environment. We loved our stay at Casa Natura (There is a hotel in town with a similar name; this is the one in the Highlands.). Don't miss the street in town with a very long row of tables in the middle with restaurants serving freshly caught and cooked fish and seafood; Brujo (brew hoe), asado (roasted) is to die for. It might help to have a little Spanish staying here but I wouldn't let that put you off.

Room Tip: Maybe try for a corner room with two windows. Most rooms, I believe, are on the second floor.

As a solo traveler, I probably would have better served to stay somewhere in town, but CN was just a $5 and 15 minute ride to and from. There was only one other couple at the lodge while I was there on 3/12. Had I not had a good command of tourist Spanish, I might have had a little trouble communicating, but everything turned out fine. I would recommend this lodge. Accommodations were quite standard. Wifi was pretty non-existent for me.

This place meet all our expectations. The lodge is just lovely, very clean and comfortable. What we liked most was the kidness of the staff, they were very helpful, they even helped us decide what to do in the time that was left free.
The view of our room was spectacular, nothing compared to anything we have seen before!

Very nice place to stay!

I arrived at the hotel in February with a friend. Located in the highlands of Santa Cruz Island, there is a path around the hotel where you can walk and enjoy the incredible surroundings. What we liked the most was the kindness of the people working there - so friendly! It is a family run business, so it always felt like home. The breakfast was fabulous. They also offer free shuttles to downtown Santa Cruz.

It was super cute, quiet, and clean, and very well-located. I would recommend this lodge if you want a very calm and peaceful place to relax!

Casa Natura is a fantastic place to relax after a long day of adventures. The staff were extremely friendly, accommodating, and made us feel right at home. The breakfasts each morning were delicious and interesting, with a variety of foods and freshly made juices. No two breakfasts were the same!

Yes, it's about a 20 minute drive from Puerto Ayora, which is exactly what we wanted. We were provided with free shuttles to town and/or our activities that day, and in the odd occasion where we decided we wanted a ride immediately, we never paid more than $7 to get to or from Puerto Ayora. Every taxi we took knew exactly where the hotel was when we said the name. The surrounding area is a canopy of palm trees and from our balcony we could even see the ocean in the distance. The room even had air conditioning, which we did not expect.

The hotel does not have a restaurant, but does have a large kitchen and communal dining area where breakfast and other meals are served. They do request that if you would like to purchase an additional meal, you give a minimum 2 hours notice which seemed quite reasonable.

They had a water cooler that dispensed purified water from a bottle, and fresh coffee available at all times. A great perk! I highly recommend you bring a large water bottle that you can refill and take with you each day.

Before we went, I noticed some reviews mentioned there being no hot water. The shower does get quite hot, but it takes a few minutes to warm up.

This is a great place to stay if you want something quiet and close to nature. A nearby farm has some roosters that start crowing fairly early, but it is far enough off that they don't wake you up so much as when you do awake, it is to the sound of roosters. As someone who lives in a city, I can say that it's far quieter out at Casa Natura!

Room Tip: Use the button labelled "LCD Display" to turn off the bright light on the air conditioner.
