“Probably the best thing to see in Egypt”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 March 2012

All the ancient sights in Egypt are wonderful but this one really should not be missed. It is worth the early start and long drive down to Abu Simbel. It is fabulous

“The best of the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 March 2012

Ramses II was hugely powerful and this is a vanity project to end them all! The painting and carving is superlative. A lot of people liked the engineering story, too.

“Great Temple of Abu Simbel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 March 2012

after seeing this temple in books and magazines for years and years it was so wonderful to actually get to see it in person. The size of the temple is really not captured well in the pictures in the books - it is really much bigger than expected

“Abu Simbel - Queen's Temple”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 March 2012

this is one half of the pair of temples relocated to prent their being flooded by Lake Nasser. It is much smaller that the Great Temple of Rameses but definitely needs to bee seen to complete the trip to Abu Simbel. The paintings are in remarkable condition - we really enjoyed seening this temple
