first of all , small note to people who have stayed here before when it was a Thomson A la Carte.
changes - on arrival at airport, you are given luggage labels & room number. you have to fill in partners details yourself on check-in form
everybody now travels on the same bus, slighlty longer transfer as you have to wait.
check-in is at a table in reception area, not in executive lounge & you are only guided to your room not taken.
these points are only reference to show difference in Thomson service.

hotel - again most reviews say it all, we had an very good stay here again.
rooms, food, facilities, and generally service up to its high standard.
we did notice there are several new waiters in main restaurant and felt that the standard of service was not quite as good on our last stay, however this would probably not be noticed for first time travellers.
We only had one occasion to complain, Gala night starts at 7pm and almost everybody attends, so the restaurant was very busy, it was the first time we had to queue for food.
However that was not our complaint, we generally tend to sit in the same area (as most people do) during our stay. On gala night we went to sit at an empty table and were told quite abruptly by a waiter who did not work that area, that we could not sit there, other people were on that table and were put on a table with the settees, which are quite low and not suitable for my disabled daughter.
to cut a story short we complained to restaurant manager when nobody appeared to sit there, from what we could gather was that if you had pre-ordered wine or champagne for the evening this was the area where you were sitting.
after several minutes, of people staring and some gloating (you know who you are) and three managers, the hotel manager moved us to the exact table we wanted to sit at originally. so the point I am making is that on gala night either order wine or on entering the restaurant, look for your regular waiter.
this did not spoil the holiday, but I am just being honest as that is what these reviews are for.

We had a fantastic time here - we stayed 1 week and felt spoilt rotten. We had a laugh with Rico the daytime activities co-ordinator, the bar staff in the evening and EVERY member of staff were always polite and helpful. Rachel our rep was fab, anything you need, anytime - she would be there! A few pointers: MEN - do not forget to pack some trousers, you cannot eat in the restaurant in the evening with shorts. Take your snorkel if you have one - the beach has a gorgeous coral reef with non-stinging jelly fish, and all the colours of the rainbow fish! They accept dollars, egyptian, pound and euros - take your pick. We went on 1 excersion, the galatic dinner, very exciting, great guide called mohammed yet not suitable for people with walking, climbing difficulties. To sum it up - perfect for doing nothing, chilling, relaxing and taking in egyptian sun - the area close is still under development and will be buzzing in 5yrs or so.. STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL

Room Tip: delux rooms give you access to all hotel

We just returned from our 18 days holiday in this great hotel. The hotel is very nice decorated with big and clean rooms. The service is really exellent and so is the food, specially the Italian restaurant. All the a la carte restaruant have a menu you can choose from and are free once a week. Every Thursday they have a very nice galadiner around the big pool. They even have service at the pools and beach, verry top service. We would like to thank all staff to make our holiday as great as it was. Special thanks to Mr. Fouquet , Mr Hafez and Carlos. We liked it so much that we will come back this Christmas.

Hi from Jeannette Ash Lynda & Paul
We stayed for 1 week from 3rd June and this hotel deserves all the praise it can get it truely is fantastic and a flagship for the Tropicanna Group The staff are so hard working and cater to your every need we would like to say special thanks to all the pool / drinks boys who are on the go from sunrise to sunset and nothing is to much bother for them and a special thanks to Tahir
Mr Fouquet speaks daily to all his guest and any concerns or queries you have he will ensure they are dealt with promptly he is a very special Manager and even on the day you leave he is there to say goodbye to all his Guests this and other unique extras really make this holiday special
The food is amazing the steaks in the Italian melt in your mouth The Resort Team led by Rachael and Amy are a credit to Thomsom Nick thankyou for the daily entertainment
The Sahl Hasheesh area is a new resort and one with a lot of new building work going on but this does not interfere with your holiday, it is a little way from the centre of Hurgharda and if you wish to dive this may be something to consider as Thomson promote Emperor Divers in Hurgardha but the Citadel Azure Resort just 10mins away in taxi has a fantastic dive team, Aquarius, and we would like to congratulate them on looking after Ash & Paul, the house reef is beautiful please try them and support the team they will arrange all you need before you leave the UK and pick up / drop off from Le Reve. One concern we would like to mention is please please stop people walking on the coral !!! put signs up and enforce this , the beautiful sea and marine life is Egypts wonder and should be protected If you want a holiday resort that not only gives you clear blue skys, a warm clear sandy waterfront, is quiet and relaxing has top class service but is also great value for money then look no further than Le Reve but please dont all go there as they may not be room left for us !!
Tropicanna Please ensure you dont change a thing !!
We will be back very soon lots of love to Mr Fouquet and all the staff x

Dear guests,

Many thanks for posting your experience about your recent holiday with us on tripadvisor. I am pleased to note that you have carried home warm memories and experiences of your stay with us and have passed on your lovely feedback to the entire team. Be sure that we do our utmost to prevent any destruction of the corals of our house reef. This reef is a treasure for us and we protect it by making sure that our guests have the information in our daily newsletter not to walk on the corals. Additionally do the team members at the beach pay attention to prevent guests accessing the sea by walking over the coral by showing them other access areas.
Thank you once more for your concern and your lovely comment.
I look forward to another visit of your to our wonderful resort.

Best regards,

Hani Zariffa

Absolute gem of a hotel. Our first trip here was March 2011. We decided to return to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. Very pleased that we did as it was just perfect. There was a bit of a celebration at the gala dinner yesterday as PLR is now #1 on trip advisor for all Egypt and #1 Thomson Couples worldwide! Deservedly so in our view.

We had our anniversary dinner in the garden looking out across the beach and red sea. Candles. The full works. Amazing way to celebrate. If you have something to celebrate you could do a lot worse than PLR. I'm sure you'll find them as flexible about options as we did.

As for the rest, here's a few changes since March:
- with Thomson this time rather than Thomas Cook. I dare say TC are better in some locations. Not here though. The whole experience much better. Rachel is brilliant. Check in at airport. Ever present. First drop from airport.
- the jetty, though not quite finished is in full use and takes you just beyond the coral. Amazing spot for snorkelling. Wear shoes to walk down the jetty. Take care at the end when very windy or you'll end up in the sea sooner than planned!
- more flies. They try to keep them under control by fumigating each evening but bit of a losing battle.
- more people. Still space round the pool. Have a slight concern that when occupancy gets towards 100% may start to get short of space.
- we came deluxe this time. View obviously better. Biggest bed we've ever seen. Will miss it!

Staff  great. From moment we arrived they were welcoming us back like old friends. Amazing that so many of them remembered us.

Can't wait to return in March 2012
