“Good Hotel...........BUT.........!!!!!!!!!”
Reviewed 18 March 2012

Just returned from a weeks stay at the Siva Grand Beach Hotel in Hurghada and I must say, overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience......but with one big reservation. Firstly, this hotel fully deserves a 4* rating but it's hot a 5*. The rooms are comfortable, well appointed and cleaned regularly. Elsewhere in the hotel - the bars are efficiently run....local drinks, but excellent service, just give the bar staff a small tip every now and then. The hotel grounds are large and well maintained with a private beach and boardwalk/pier providing a selection of sports facilities, snorkling, wind surfing etc etc.
The only real negative to this hotel, I regret to report, is the food, which was at best disappointing. It was badly prepared, poorly presented, and unappetizing! We're not fussy eaters and normally, we can always find something on the menu to enjoy. But we spent the week living on soup and bread and fruit. Like I said a good hotel, let down by the food.

My Husband and I visited this hotel in September 2011. It was a last minute booking, we just wanted a cheap, all inclusive week away.

This hotel surpassed all of our expectations.

The beach
Amazing considering you are in Egypt.

The food
Amazing choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Two main restaurants serving dinner and breakfast. A beach restaurant, beach snack bar, pizza bar, burger bar all serving lunch options. And for afternoon snacks there is cake, waffles, pancakes and ice cream.

Room
Basic but very large and very clean. The bed was large and comfortable.

Service
Amazing! The hotel is only 10 minutes from the airport so we didn't want to be picked up by the coach 4 hours before the plane took off. The reception arranged the hotel taxi for us and let us check out when we wanted ( which in the end was around 4pm) for no extra charge.

We are thinking of going for two weeks this year. Absolutely mind boggling value for money! Book it, you won't be disappointed.

you could not ask for anything more this place is wonderful, all be it a little dated and tired in places you cannot fault the rooms the services in all resturants bars and on the beach you are looked after from start to finish i have stayed in several hotels in egypt and can honestly sat that this is one of the best you can always find something to eat food is of a good standard the staff are wonderful and the hotel should do everything they can to hold on to them the only downside to this hotel is that it does not have its own house reef so not that great for snorkelling which was a shame but if you want a week or two away relaxing and not doing a lot then this place is great that is not to say that there is nothing to do around the hotel are some great places to shop and walk nice and safe also great value for money cannot complain about great hotel go and enjoy only small problem free wifi not very good singnal could not face time or connect to internet very well but inter net cafe outside so no problem

We paid £400 for a week all inclusive at the end of Feb ... staff were very helpful and honest will not take tips for beds! - plenty of food - clean rooms. I went for a relaxing week away - if you are looking for some exciting night life forget it and to be honest I found the entertainment team pretty lacking though nice enough.
Not many British people but that didnt bother me - also hotel looked like it could cater for children playground on the beach and special seating areas in the restaurants.

Room Tip: I would choose a room in the main hotel only due to the fact that in the evenings its close to the b...

We have just paid under £400 for an all inclusive winter sunshine holiday and the Siva Grand was just the job... Clean, well run , reasonable though continental style food designed for the largely German clientèle. Strange to British tastes but OK - just need to be adventurous. Stay away from the puddings though - they are not good - pretty bland - nay tasteless!! As I said the rest was pretty good - no pork of any kind but the chicken or beef sausages for brekki were OK... definitely no bacon - but you can get get cold ham - strange!!

Pool area and beach very good - lots of waiters - plenty of free soft and alcoholic drinks...plenty of food snacks and ice cream. Private beach - warm, clear sea...Plenty of sunbeds...though if you want one with a windbreak you will have to be up early to beat the Germans to them.....!!!! (I preferred to stay in bed till after 6am!!!)Lots of activities aqua gym, and all the rest....join in if you want..looked like fun from my lounger.....!

Evening entertainment - fantastic if you are under 8 years old - disco and entertainer... the rest is so bad it's very funny....

Room was excellent we had a junior suite - cleaned every day, very big bed! TV OK 3 English channels including BBC news. Don't drink the tap water!! Bottled water delivered free every morning.

Change your money in Egypt at the local bank you get a better exchange rate - get some small denomination notes (handy for tipping) but not too many - the money is grotty so don't put your fingers in your mouth after handling it!!!

The optional excursions are very good value.. we did the quad biking and Bedouin village...great fun and informative. If you can't scuba dive - still go snorkelling - it is a fantastic day out and the sea is amazing - like swimming around in your own fish tank...!! Be prepared for hassle if you go out shopping - go late - the shops are open till midnight!! Learn to say no thank you in Arabic and batter like mad....

Overall - for the price it was a good value fun week - oh, if you get diarrhoea (sorry), but if you do, go to the local pharmacy and ask for treatment - Adonil works well... stuff you buy in the UK e.g. 'Imodium' is unlikely to work.

Room Tip: Go for a junior suite in the main hotel

A week in the sun and value for money don't come much better than this. The service is excellent, very friendly and kind. The room was huge with a seating area, plus fridge, bath + shower with hot water that never went cold!! Plus, a balcony that overlooked the gardens, the pool and the sea.....great start to the day!!
I didn't go out of the hotel except to return to the airport....sad, I know but a week goes sooo quickly!!!
The Hotel offers so much......food and drink everywhere!! All inclusive is til midnight and they are nice with it, no feeling of being rationed or slow service, always being asked if we wanted something to drink, something to eat, very nice!! Food is good quality and alot is freshly cooked....pizza, grill bar, waffles + crepes at 3pm. Just all GREAT!!!

Room Tip: Complex is big and very pleasant to walk around in. We were 3rd floor, no noise of any sorts experie...

We have just returned from a thoroughly enjoyable week at the Siva Grand in Hurghada. Even leaving the massively important value for money to one side for a moment, he holiday was absolutely everything we could have wished for - we wanted a week in the sun, with a good quality resort, good food and good service - check all of those boxes! Add back value for money and we cannot believe how wonderful our holiday was. The hotel is modern and the facilities are very good indeed. The presentation and cleanliness of every aspect of the hotel, from the lovely bedroom, the beautiful pool, the idyllic private beach and even the pleasant toilets is better in our opinions than some supposedly higher-rating resorts. The weather was fantastic - warm enough to sit either beside the pool or on the beach from 9.00am until the sun started to set at about 4.00pm. The choice and quality of the food was excellent and we would certainly recommend the special dinners at the Oasis restaurant (no extra cost). The staff at the hotel are in the main extremely friendly and very helpful and several were truly exceptional. Lookout for Reda serving drinks on the beach - a truly charming young man who was always a delight to talk to and who really did go the extra mile to help make our holiday memorable. There were plenty of organised activities for those so inclined, and the additional day trips looked well organised and very good value for money. We can't believe that there could be a better winter sun package anywhere, certainly not for the money. We booked our holiday through Anthony and Victor at Peter Goord Travel, who, as on every occasion we have used them, gave us superb advice and helped us to choose exactly the right package for us - everything was exactly as they described and there were certainly no unpleasant surprises. Red Sea Holidays also deserve a mention as their team are extremely professional and super friendly. We totally recommend this hotel and holiday package to anyone else looking for a winter sun get-away at a quality resort that will even receive the blessing of your bank manager!

Room Tip: We had a junior suite which was very nice. also had a sea view which was a pleasant bonus. We can...
