“The staff make it 5 star”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 March 2012

Stayed here 25 Feb for a week for our 30th Wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. We stayed on the S - class All Inclusive because and were not disappointed with the choice of restaurants and bars around Soho Square, The Royal savoy or the Savoy. If you can't find something to your taste across the vast selection then you must be a fussy eater. Don't get me wrong, it is not Michelin Star quality but it is very, very good.

There is a bit of building work going on to the side of the Royal pools but nothing to worry about, a few hammer bangs here and there was what it was.

We had a very modern room with Jacuzzi Bath and the room was well sized and very well appointed (4018).

Now to what makes a the hotel, the staff. I have stayed in 5 star hotels where the staff will blank you and not pass the time of day. There are absolutely no worries about that at the Royal Savoy. From the moment George rushes you through arrivals (and departures, I have never had a hotel employee check me in before!!!) to the hotel check in process, to the guys who serve in the private Royal bar to Farag the egg man at breakfast and to Mahmoud at pool and all of the waiting and room staff throughout the hotel, you will feel like a friend. They acknowledge you, they speak to you, they serve you in 5 star fashion and that is what makes any hotel and what makes people return is the warmth of the welcome and the ongoing service. You will be looked after like never before.

My advice would be to go soon before this this Egyptian gem is discovered by even more people. Enjoy it when you get there because we will be back.

Once again we have just returned from another fabulous holiday to the Royal Savoy in Sharm and yet again it has exceeded my expectations.
As always the rooms are of a high standard and extremely clean, the restaurants all offer a wide range of dishes all cooked to a very high standard.
The level of service at 'The Royal' is exceptional - all members of staff deserve the highest credit for the work and service they offer to all guests - it doesn't take them long to get to know your routine and in our case have a refreshing gin & tonic ready for us in the lounge before we went out to dinner. I would like to offer particular thanks to a few members of staff, namely, Farag who made us one of his 'surprise' omelettes every morning, Bassam for looking after us by the poolside, Gerges for his attentiveness in the Lounge and finally George for his fantastic airport shuttle service.
Egypt has had its problems in the past however please do not let this stop you from travelling to Sharm el Sheikh - the people are friendly and helpful and at no point did we feel uneasy when venturing outside of the hotel complex.
We will certainly be back again this year.
Steve & Dave

We have just returned to London having spent the best week ever at The Savoy.Having been to most countries in Europe China Japan USA and many other hotels in Sharm including Hyatt Regency Hilton etc this place was by far the best. The entrance to the hotel is beautiful with its magnificent gardens surrounded by the lovely shops in Soho Square all protected by the excellent security team (very important these days)As soon as we arrived all our worries faded away, this is truly an oasis.A very good start to our break! There is a cobbled drive but there are hotel buggies available for anyone who has walking difficulties. There are so many different areas to enjoy and soak up the atmosphere whether it be by the white sandy beach watching the dare devils enjoying water sports scuba diving and snorkling,a leisurely stroll through the magical gardens or getting the credit cards out at the beautifully stocked stores in Soho Square (surprisingly so) Ladies! saw some fantastic beachwear there! The Pool Bar is so so relaxing good food excellent service and the music played over the sound system set the right atmosphere London seemed a million miles away. What really impressed us most is that the Savoy has the best of everything to offer REALLY! This hotel has good food, beautiful scenery, very very big comfortable beds ,excellent sevice very well trained staff AND amazing entertainment artists coming from all over the world. Most 5star Hotels can offer good facilities but tend to be a bit prim and proper and do not offer good and enjoyable Entertainment The Savoy provides excellent facilties for anyone from nursery age (kiddies corner) youngsters (the Ice Rink) teenagers and trendy adults (Fab Disco)There really is something for the whole family!.In our room we found flowers fruits tea coffee making facilities robes and a good selection of toiletries on top of the wonderful pool and sea view. It was with a very heavy heart we bid a fare well to the Savoy and we are looking forward to going back ASAP

My wife and I spent a truly relaxing week at The Royal Savoy in mid February. Everything from the moment we arrived at the hotel made us realise we had made a good choice in selecting the Royal Savoy. We had a superb room (upgraded to a honeymoon suite!) with great views across the hotel complex, pools and the sea. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. Any queries were dealt with by the reception team who were outstanding. The pool facilities including sauna and jacuzzi were ideal and quiet away from children. We ate in a different restaurant each night. With the hotel owning the solo square compleex we had access to a dozen different restaurants. Our favourites were the Thai, chinese and Steak restaurants. Going all inclusive we did not have to pay for anything. We definitely will go back. Well done the Royal Savoy Team.

We have just returned from our third visit to the Royal Savoy, and once again eveyone at the hotel excelled themselves. The service in all of the restaurants that we visited was excellent, but our favourite was the Bombay, the food there is superb, and although the dishes shared the same name as those back in the UK, the flavours were totally different ( far nicer than the UK).

Breakfast is served in the private lounge with the staff remembering what my wife and I had for breakfast? The egg man Farag even remembered how we liked our eggs cooked from our previous visit, it is those sort of things that make the service at the Savoy as near to perfect that it is possible to get.

The same service was given at the pool with Ali & Mahamoud taking care of our every need, with Mohamoud possibly going beyond the call of duty by going to the lobby to bring fresh fruit from the daily selection on offer to our poolside beds. (He obviously saw me doing this on our first day).

We stayed in a ground floor room which had recently been redecorated and gave easy access to the pools from the porch. The rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard with fresh towels every day, (even if you had hung them up indicating you were happy to use them again)

The restaurants in the hotel and Soho Square (usually 12 of them) offer a wide range of food to suit every taste, although some restaurants were closed for logistical reasons there was still plenty of choices, and since our last visit a new eatery had opened, Makhuna Makhata which is based on the food hall system of quick easy dining with no fuss, with a choice of seven different styles of cooking perfect for families with fussy foodies the Pizza was probably the best we have tasted outside of Italy.

The only slight drawback was that the mattress in our room was too soft, however I found out on our last day that we could have requested to have the mattress replaced with a firmer one.

All the rooms offer the same amenities but if you want that little extra then pay for a Honeymoon room most of which offer a view of the ocean, and all have a separate Jakuzzi and shower. The front of house pay personal attention to all guests and nothing is too much trouble for them, we were actually away on my birthday, this was obviously noticed by them and I received a birthday card from them and a cake was waiting in our room when we came in from the pool on the day.

The building work that has been going on for some time is still in progress but all of the noisy work has been completed, but completion still appears tobe some way off but the ongoing works do not cause any problems or inconvenience.

All in all a truly great place to stay and we are already planning our next trip. If you want to stay at a hotel that truly cares about its guests then look no further than the Royal Savoy in Egypt.

We had a fantastic time last week at the Royal Savoy, Sharm. It was our first visit to this hotel and we will being doing our best to return next year. We had a junior suite which overlooked the pool - and it was everything we wanted. Half Board was certainly sufficient for our needs - as we were able to have complimentary drinks all day around the pool and in the Lounge - as well as canapes from 12 noon onwards. Cocktail hour was fun - as we tried a different variety each evening! We were able to choose from the huge assortment of restaurants - both in the hotel and in Soho Square - only paying for drinks and/or for those (few) items as listed on the menus as extras. All the staff were fantastic - probably special mention to "the Egg Man" who - created a 'special omelette' for me each morning!!! Free internet access in our room was appreciated - along with the pastries, which were delivered every afternoon.

Our tip would be to book the limousine service for your outward trip - as this is not automatically available to you - it has to be pre-booked for both outward and returning trip. We were disappointed after a very long (delayed) flight - to have to wait for all other passengers to board the mini-bus, when we had been expecting a special service!!

Overall - a fantastic treat - which we hope to repeat next year !!

Room Tip: Junior suites had view of pool and the sea beyond.

My friend and I spent eight nights at the Royal Savoy to escape the January weather and have a break from our families! I was given the responsibility for booking a suitable hotel as I have visited Egypt on two occasions previously. This time I wanted somewhere with that extra special exclusive touch and having looked on Trip Advisor there was no comparison with the Royal Savoy. The previous excellent reviews have really said everything I could possibly say about the level of service and the friendly but professional staff. Within fifteen minutes of arriving at the hotel I felt relaxed which is amazing for me as usually it takes two days before the chilled state is achieved. As a community mental health nurse you can imagine what a difference that makes!
We were made to feel welcome and were given a twin room as requested overlooking the pool and the sea. We paid for Bed and Breakfast due to a specific budget but spent only £100 extra on eating out due to the amazing canapes and drinks provided in our private lounge. Its those little extras that make this hotel special, the attention to detail, the personal service, the reply 'but of course' when a request was made. I had left my iphone in the lounge one evening and only realised when in the buggy taking us to Soho Square. As I turned round from speaking to the driver to ask him if he could look out for it, a colleague of his from the Royal Savoy handed me my phone. He had followed us to the restaurant in another buggy with my phone. 'All part of the service' was his response when I thanked him. Wow! Anyway, if you are looking for a relaxing holiday away from the stressors of modern life look no further than the Royal Savoy. As I said to my friend when she asked how much it would cost my reply was - 'Because you're worth it' (It was worth every penny/ Egyptian pound) Fleetway Travel was our travl agent on line by the way, flying from Manchester.
On a finaI note would just like to say a big thank you to the wonderful couples we met while there. You know who you are. Sara and Morag hope to see you there again for Kir Royal happy hours and doughnuts.
