“Brief synopsis not for us”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 May 2012

We arrived at the Jaz Belvedere the last week in March on our twice yearly visit to Sharm. Me I be so bold and say we have stayed in some of the best hotels in the Sharm area and find each of them wonderful in their own way. This hotel is in no way wonderful and I would not recommend any English tourist to go there, it is small, tired and the staff seem lackadaisical. The room which we were allocated was an upgrade (they upgrade every English tourist we were told later) had a sea view but it was dark and dingy. It maybe that they were not used to English tourists in the hotel as it was filled with Italians who seemed to get all of their attention. The animation team were Italian and did not translate into any other language. We had to buy water upon arrival to acquire a bottle to be filled up at water stations around the bar areas if and when we needed it. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room but we could have hired them for a mere £63 for the fortnight we should have been there. We complained to the Thomson rep and were moved to the Coral Sea Resort for the grand total of £108. Never again will we use the Jaz group of hotels they seem to be going rapidly downhill!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Choose another hotel

From arriving at the hotel and all through the stay, all staff were happy, friendly and cheerful. Nothing was too much for them. Hussein, our room boy, made animals and flowers from towels and blankets, surprising us daily. Katie & Pop were wonderful, chatting to us daily, checking that we were enjoying ourselves,( she is a wonderful Guest Relations Manager). Hamada and his friends in the resturant entertained us with their tricks and jokes, waiting on us hand and foot. Food was excellent, (my expanded waistline is proof!!) ,
There are too many staff to mention, as they were all amazing, ensuring that we were relaxed and happy. We will definitely return!

Room Tip: Lots of stepa and steep slopes, so block 10 & 11 are best, as no steps.

Just back from a fabulous trip to Sharm, Stayed in the jaz Belvedere and would recommend it highly. Staff very friendly and hard working, Katy and Bob (who also has a great singing voice)always available to assist and ensure satisfaction. Food great, first time i've had all inclusive and always been able to find something nice. loved the omlette's at breakfast. pool very nice, no problem finding a sun bed even in the middle of the day. Snorkelling from the hotel beach was amazing, I did my PADI with diving instructor Dawa and enjoyed it thoroughly. I'd defo go back and am already looking to try and go again in autumn. One piece of advice, use the taxi guy in the hotel lobby even if he costs a bit more, taxi's you hail on the street are all a bit dodgy!!! and if you want the cheapest prices in the hotel boutiques use the phrase "Ma Feis Folois" which means I have no money and watch the prices tumble. I went to the spa once and thought it could do with a bit of a repaint and would like to have free wifi the next time I'm there

Room Tip: Ask for a room near the hotel, Block 10 11 or 20. Block 16 is furthest from diningroom and pool

Stayed at the Belvedere 8-15th April 2012.
Although we had some early issues with the Air con in our room we could not fault the service we received and how helpful people were in respect of this matter.
Both Mohamed Darwish ( food and beverage manager) and Mohamed Arafa ( Front office mmaanger) were definitely 5* in terms of their attitude and professionalism. We have stayed many times in Egypt and this is definitely the best service we have had.
Waiters Islam & Hamada were very warm and friendly and looked after us for our entire stay. Now for the hotel itself........on arrival first impressions were extremly good, reception area is huge and spotlessly clean as is the bar.The rooms were also spotless overlooking very well maintained gardens.Lovely pool and bar area and there was a choice of two beaches.......the noisy one used by families or the relaxation beach which was nice and peaceful. Overall this was an excellent holiday and we would definitely use this hotel again.

Room Tip: You have the choice of a garden view or a sea veiw and both are quite stunning.

As we attended the reception we immediately got a very good feeling of this hotel. Often you can tell by first-impression as you enter the hotel for the first time and how you are greeted, of how your stay will be. This feeling was continious throughout our stay here.

We had All-inclusive and the description says it all. Free breakfast, lunch, dinner and pizza/snacks throughout the day until sunset. If you don´t have All-inclusive - or come from an other hotel to dine her, only dinner cost 150LE. Every night you can choose from a vast variety of dishes - including on-the-fly grilled meat, chicken and fresh fish. Alcohol (Local Beer/Wine/Spirits), dispenser soft drinks and dispenserwater is free, and you can consume how much you like.

Nice beach (for free) and Pool area! Neatly preserved gardens and gererally very clean!
The rooms are clean and the cleaning-staff makes cool towel-figures every day which are waiting on your bed when you come back from the beach.
There are activities like Tennis, tabletennis, soccer. Tennis (with equipment) is for free during sunlight.

We were here during April and the clientell were mainly Italian and Russian guests - so the entertainment were naturally in Italian language. There were an "animation-team" of Italian descent whose task was to create life and laughter during the evenings. A bit annoying that it was only in Italian - but you don´t want to sit at the hotel every evening! Naama Bay, Old Market and SOHO-square are interesting travel destinations as alternatives nearby.
All in all we had a really great time during our stay - and would with ease recommend this hotel.

Great value for money!

The hotel is literally at the end of the airport runway, so it is only 10 minutes transfer time. Despite this the taking off aircraft cause little disruption or annoyance to hotel guests.

Jas Belvedere is scrupulously clean and sits in well maintained (manicured) gardens. The beach is at the end of the garden and is as convenient to get to as either outdoor swimming pool. It is easy to tell which is the heated pool (26c) as it has most of the swimmers compared to one or two in the other pool.

Without exception all of the staff were friendly and considerate, there is certainly enough of them. Food has been very good, all available buffet style, with plenty of variety, fresh bread and vegetables. A snack bar (pizza, hamburger, chips etc.) are available next to the pool from around 10 am till 5 pm. There is a beach bar with self service water & soft drinks; served coffee, beer and spirits until sunset (which translated in April to 5 pm, if you were lucky).

Although I am was on an all exclusive package this excluded any of the water, soft drinks, beer or chocolate in my room fridge. All of course which could be consumed at extra cost (Pepsi, Seven Up, tonic - 14 LE [Egyptian Pounds], mineral water - 10 LE, Bounty, Snicker - 10 LE). Make sure you bring a plastic water bottle (each) with you and you can top it up from the large cooled water dispensers at the bars' (individual bottles of water still charged for at the bar). The AI package includes local gin, run, vodka as well as soft drinks and ice cream. Cocktails can be purchased for 5 Euros. The hotel has good wireless internet coverage extending into the rooms. Cost is 25 LE for ½ an hour.

The room television has two English movie channels plus BBC World Service. The bathroom hair dryer has a cut out, so blows hot air for a few minutes and then needs a rest!

There is a supermarket, pharmacy and clinic on site. All of which I was able to avoid needing to use. I did however require the services of a Doctor in my room one evening. He was very quick in attending, spoke good English and obviously knew his stuff (65 Euros).

The vast majority of guests are either Italian or Russian, there are a few other nationalities thrown in for variety. There is a six strong Italian 'Animation Team', so other than a few “international” activities, shows, comparing etc. are in Italian. The hotel arranged bus transport to SOHO Square one night (big shopping / entertainment complex) which is worth a visit.

This is probably more a family hotel than a couples hotel. The beach / shore is as safe as water can get for children. A very gentle slope for about 100 meters to adult knee height. Further out there are some areas of coral which are good for snorkelling, but nothing like the large coral reef / shelf further round in Sharm El Sheik.
