If you are looking for a great team to dive with no matter how skilled or like in my case (unskilled) this is the place.
if you are looking for a cheap but super clean and very possitive atmosphere hotel, This is the place for you.
If you are looking for a relaxing stay yet vibrant activities to do and close to every where in Naama bay, This is still the place for you. I have done dives with Tracy which is very supportive and patient. Ahmed in reception deserves all the reputation on booking .com and here as he is so helpful and easygoing as well as super polite.
The hotel rooms are well took care of. i am traveling solo with no plans so i am open to all potentials which made here a great place to be. Breakfast is fine for me but for those who are looking for luxury travel it is just a super healthy and basic breakfast which is plenty for my style as a vegan. The beach area is amazing and super relaxing . you should try it . Great for solo travelers , divers and couples who appreciate adventure and positive atmosphere.

The hotel: rather basic. Small bedroom, large bathroom. For 20€ per night? It definitely worked. Pluses: fridge, quality of service, safe in the closet, balcony, decent air conditioning. Minuses: water pressure in the shower, the shower area itself. Overall, for a dive hotel (i.e., very little time spent in the room), it was fine.

The dive operation: FANTASTIC. Amy, Nick, and Pete did a superb job making sure we were safe and happy. Very flexible in terms of our interests/requests. High quality standards and training. Very mature dive operation. Can't wait to go back. . .

This is a small dive operation running its own dive boat and trainning packages.
The dive club is under the hotel so it is ideal for access
rooms are clean airconditioned and basic .(You wont see much of them)
The dive centre operated day boat and beach diving daily
the boats are comfortable with excellent food served at miday aboard.
the egyptian hotel and restauraunt and dive operation staff are polite happy and cant do enogh to please.
the dive guides are British and are amongst the finest dive professional i have met anywhere.
safty is of paramount consideration and i think this applies to complete novices to the ex instructors who still return regularly on holiday
it is often referred to as having a family atmosphere with many guests being regular return guests
so friendly is the atmosphere that many guests are happy to travel here alone and usually leave with many new friends
it has world famous beer oclock when divers meet after diving activities and compare their days pictures and stories .
it would be rude not to join in and sitting alone is simply not allowed !!
you will often here people say at the end of their week that they have barely seen their room or if staying at a nearby all inclusive that next time they would choose to stay at oonas for convienience!!
the nearby sonesta beech hotel and casino resort offers non divers who dont like being on boats many pools and such like and might be advisable for mixed groups of small children or ardent non boating non snorkelling non swimming members of a party.
i have been exceptionally lucky in life and dived over the world but i have been returning here for 25 years
booking is direct from the link on the website oonasdiveclub.
its the staff both british and egyptian that make this place special
another advantage is its multinational clientel...yet again on this trip i made friends with Americans,Belgians,Austrians,Swiss ,Germans and Brithish people.
Its so special ,you can have absolute beginners sharing dives and knowlege with ex instructors with thousands of dives...and it works.
the recent lack of direct flights from the uk has largely been ignored by those in the know and flying via cairo with a short transfer flight to sharm is easily booked with egypt air whose flights have food lovely planes and staff.(They have prooved very reliable.) Admitedly a little more expensive but with a huge 2x23kg hold and 8kg hand luggage on all but the special offers you really can take everything including your kitchen sink.
the shallow sites and amazing wall dives offers something for everyone
Shark /yolanda dive site is world famous as are the reefs of the straights of tiran
in the summer months late june july august and early september Shark reef is probably the best dive site in the world still.
go now before the crowds return
the red sea is amazing and is better now than its ever been.
read others reviews .........over time.........youll see that this little gem is persitantly brilliant.

Room Tip: room 1 and suite a have stunning bay views

The accommodation and the food are just ok, but it is great diving with Oonas. Our diveguide was Nick, a very easy going guy. It was very relaxing to dive with Nick. Breefings were very clear, and during the dives he showed us the best places. I can highly recommend Oonas (and Nick)!!

Despite the challenges Oonas delivered a first class experience yet again. Assured of a friendly welcome and with the Oonas family of dive guides and guests (mostly on their umpteenth return visit) enjoying beer o'clock daily. First time divers and those travelling solo can also be confident they will become part of the Oonas family.
