As the Emaho Sekawa website explains, the word “emaho” is a Tibetan exclamation describing joy, wonder and realization. It’s difficult to adequately describe our experience at Emaho Sekawa, but “emaho” comes close.

From the moment we arrived, we were struck with awe by the art of nature all around us. That sense of awe never faded over the course of our stay, and it continues in our memories today. The location is simply amazing. From our rainforest mountaintop villa, we had panoramic views of the rainforest valley below, with views of the mountains in the distance and with expansive views of the ocean and coastline. It is truly a work of art. And while we were in a luxurious villa on a mountaintop, the villa was constructed in such a wonderful way that we felt like we were actually a part of the great scene, not in a building as detached observers. The villas at Emaho Sekawa are truly harmonious with nature. Bravo to the designers for magically creating a perfect, yet seemingly effortless, balance.

We were pampered throughout our stay. Gourmet meals of our choosing were delivered to our villa at any times we desired. We chose to enjoy our dinners on our villa deck overlooking the valley, mountains, and ocean views, made all the more astonishing by spectacular sunsets. The entire villa (and even the food itself) was always decorated with fresh flowers (including orchids). We were treated to great bird watching by day and to nightly shows by large bats flying high in the sky across the valley, all from the privacy and comfort of our villa deck. There was really no reason to leave our villa at all, except when the ocean and river below beckoned.

When we wanted some nearby exploration, we just hopped on our complimentary “mule” (a rugged high-powered golf cart sized vehicle) and drove down to the deserted long black sand beach just a few minutes away. We enjoyed walking on the hard packed (easy-walking) sand while admiring the sand dollars and shells along the way, and great swimming in the warm calm water of the South Pacific (which was further heated as the rising tide washed over the hot black sand). We also enjoyed a guided river kayak trip, exploring mangrove tributaries along the way. We had fun taking a short drive and guided walk to a nearby waterfall. All of our activities were organized at our request, on short notice, by the Emaho team. Everything about our stay was seamlessly orchestrated.

The Emaho team is warm and friendly, and always ready to offer any assistance required. At the same time, they managed to ensure that we had complete privacy at all times. Nothing could invoke an instant feeling of complete peace and relaxation like Emaho Sekawa. It was, by far, the best overall experience we’ve ever had while travelling. It was simply (luxuriously, naturally, comfortably, wonderfully, intimately, serenely, harmoniously) amazing!

We stayed at Emaho Sekawa for our honeymoon and there are almost no words to accurately describe the experience (I'll do my best). Our stay was beyond anything we could have imagined. The staff is wonderful, the accommodations are incredible, and the views were breathtaking. We didn't have the greatest weather, but it was still the best 4 days of our 18 day honeymoon. The whole experience was unreal.

Room Tip: We stayed in Villa Emaho, but all of the villas looked amazing. Can't go wrong.

This place!!! Where to begin? The owners and staff were so warm and welcoming. They treated us like royalty and we felt so special here while on our honeymoon. The food was incredible, the views spectacular, the service impeccable, and the privacy unparalleled. It was a week of pure luxury and relaxation, and I hope to go back again someday!!!

Best vacation of our lives. The photos don’t do this place justice. I couldn’t believe the views and the beauty of this resort with such a detailed attention to everything from design to decoration of food, just everything. It was a perfect vacation that we will never forget. Just perfect! Both my partner and I are quite active people and were able to do an incredible adventure every day. Everything was organized well and everybody was extremely helpful and friendly. I recommend to take the boat trip to white sand beach. We also loved the kayaking and fishing, but super-loved the hike to waterfall, the big waterfall. Ruben is a great guide and also very knowledgeable about the area. Simeli and Lukas were great on the boat, masterfully handling the boat on our way back through high seas. We also loved walking on the beach before sunset. But the best of all was how nicely we were treated by the staff.

The villa was absolutely stunning! Super luxurious with all amenities and beautiful flower decorations throughout. Luxuriously appointed, but cozy at the same time and very comfortable. The meals were the freshest we ever had with beautiful flower decorations and incredible variety. The seafood was fresh everyday. We stayed for 7 nights and each meal was a complete surprise for us. Many thanks to the chef and the entire Emaho Team. You certainly helped make our vacation a dream come true and we will be back next year. This vacation was extremely refreshing and the resort can’t be compared to any to any other. One of a kind paradise-like resort with super-lovely personal, also very private with charming atmosphere. We wanted to stay longer. True gem!
