If you do not expect too much, you can be very happy with the hotel. The rooms are very clean, they get cleaned every day very well. The bathroom in our first room was full of mold, we asked if we can get another room and that was no problem. The other rooms, as we heard, do not have that problem.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, if you have a problem or don't like something, just tell them. We wanted a mosquito net and they just drilled a hook into the ceiling and gave it to us!
We booked the junior suite and would not recommend it. You get a small "kitchen" but nothing to sit on and no table. We looked at some standard rooms and they all looked better. So if you`re thinking about booking the suite because it soudns better: don`t do it! The only advantage is that you get a fridge.
We only had a bed and a little closet (1m x 1,5m) in our room, no desk or anything like that, but you do not need that in The Gambia anyway, because you should alway be outside exploring the country. The AC costs about 30€ for one week, the safe about 10€. You should book the AC as it gets very hot in the rooms and insects do not go into the cold.
The breakfast is not great, but you do not have to starve. You can get eggs, baked beans and so on. They also have bread, but not a lot to put on it. There is some "cheese" but it does not taste like anything. Still, we had it 7 days every day and it was okay.
In total, it is a very good hotel for the price. I had worse three star hotels in Europe. so if you do not expect a 5 star European hotel, you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Standard rooms 40-46 looked very good, they seem to be newer!

Went there last April for alomost 2 weeks and loved it! Although traveling alone, I got an upgrade to a junior sweet. For me it was well worth the money. Rooms are very simple, you might find that the bed lamp is crooked, tv image is hardly visible from the bed, a/c is loud and just working, curtens are to short, the baboo bed scrated my head (I'm bold), in the suite it made a lot of noise so I put the bedframe aside, fridge makes noise too is was hardly cooling, water to hot from the shower boiler, very simple breakfast with powder coffee :-( But the staff is willing to help and try to make the most of your holiday, they are very kind and helpfull. Snack at the pool taste great and are fast served. The hotel looks like it's been there for 15 years, but I later learned that it's only 5 years old. Had to change room twice, from standard to junior suite and because of maintanance had to switch for suite to suite. Rooms are well kept clean, like the rest of the hotel.
Anyway, a lot of minor discomfort but will go there again, my kind of hotel!

Perfectly nice hotel, comfortable room with everything working well (baring an extremely creaky bed!). The pool bar was nice and breakfast set you up for the day well.

The hotel is well positioned close to the beach but beware - as soon as you leave the hotel there are taxi drivers and restaurant workers trying to get your business.

The beach in this area is very busy, full of tourists and locals trying to sell you fruit salad and juice (they're very friendly so just have a chat) but it is lovely to walk along the beach to find quieter areas and nice beach bars.

We had an enjoyable stay here but you get a very touristy view of The Gambia, a good location to use as a base to visit other areas and see the country. We prefer somewhere quieter and more unique but a still would be happy recommending this place

Stayed in suite (No.27) for two weeks. Rooms and pool in need of refurbishment. Beds comfortable and daily cleaning and towel change. Disappointed with kitchenette only had fridge and kettle so only able to carry out very basic catering needs. Opted for the suite because of the kitchenette as these extras are not available in the standard rooms but be aware that there is still a charge for the room safe. Breakfast very busy at times and not enough tables. Very little choice but ok if you like eggs and white bread. Only one cereal choice, no yoghurt and same two fruit options daily (bannana or watermelon). Don't let this put you off visiting this little gem, the staff are very friendly and polite and only too happy to assist with any problems. Able to get a sunbed and is nice and quiet if you don't like the beach. Overall this hotel is value for money as we found out after visiting other hotels and looking around rooms etc. Would visit again.

It is a cute quiet little park, the breakfast is a simple English breakfast.

We had a room in the back of the park, clean but simple and spacious bed slept wonderfully. You have to pay extra for use of air conditioning and mini fridge can be rented. Disco in the area on Friday’s and Saturday’s but we heart nothing’s. Too bad there are not more umbrellas at the pool it can be really hot in the sun.

The bar is a pleasant place to be, great and tasty lunch menu, Ali, Matthew and Vincent make it cosy at the bar. The entire staff is very nice and very helpful.

Room Tip: If you like it to be quiet ask for a room at the back of the park.

Our first trip to Gambia and the Bamboo Gardens is a good choice - just 150m from Kololi beach and a 10 minute walk from the strip restaurants. Reception and room staff were very friendly and quickly attended to our needs. Our room in the rear section was of good size with large double bed, air con, lockable safe and ensuite shower room. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. There is a small pool with limited sunloungers which were pre-booked most days (with towels put out before dawn!!). Internet available but very slow download speed.

Room Tip: The rear building rooms were quiet (possibly by being away from pool area?).
