Three of us decided to go to Daman for a quick weekend trip. Its a 3-4 hour drive and is largely pleasant owing to good road for the most part.
We reached Daman at around 5:30 PM in the evening, and checked around in 4-5 places....most of them did not have a room left, and Princess Park was one of the few which had. We decided to stay here, as rooms looked good (though small) and they had a large restaurant called "High tide" just by seaside (no beach here).
I will summarize my views on the hotel in quick bullets
- Rooms: Reasonably well furnished will wall mounted TV and split AC. Balcony offers a splendid view of the sea. Bathroom was nice and clean. Towels were not provided, we had to ask.
- The High Tide: Large open-beachfront restaurant (probably can seat 100). Best seats are by the seaside and we took one. The sea usually moves near the property during the night and again mid-morning. Its nice to sit around especially when there is nice breeze coming in.
- Service: We ordered a couple of beers and munchies in the room on arrival and got served in no-time. Even in the restaurant, the level of service was very good...we must have ordered about 10 dishes in seperate orders and got served really fast. It made the seaside experience very enjoyable
- Charges - 4.5k for a 2bed + 400 for an extra matress. Slightly steep, but we ended up without reservation on a long weekend. I guess prior booking and negotiations might help.
Overall - Liked the place, likely to stay here on my next visit to Daman
