Diu is a jewel hidden away from tourist and Sugati Beach Resort was a great spot to explore it from. Diu is a small town , another Goa in the making, very charming. Sugati is bang on the beach, with lovely view from the room and great coastal sea food. We went dolphin sighting in the speed boats organised by the hotel and saw dozens of them dancing away at close quarters. Would love to go there again.

Room Tip: Ask for sea facing rooms, although I suspect all rooms were sea facing

This is a low profile beach resort mostly suited to family vacation. You will find kids running all around. It has Goghala Beach attached which is neaely isolated and you virtally get the whole beach for Hotel residents as there is no other hotel around ! Rooms are ok and value for money. The best thing is the location and the sea view from the rooms( not all). The beach is very clean and the sand is soft and it is a pleasure to walk on the beach. The most noticeable thing is that although Diu is located on the west coast of India , you will find , here, the sun rising over the SEA !!! It is the most pleasant sight. The room rates reasonable and the room service is ok. The food is also good. It is a fantastic place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view rooms which are away from reception area !

This is a very good property. Though I have not visited any other resort in Diu, the location is the best in Diu. Looking at the seaface after entering the resort will truly enthrall and refresh you. Also the swimming pool, though small but inviting. I stayed in Royal room on first floor. Royal room you get the beach view from your balcony.
Service is nice. About restaurant, seafood is not made to the perfect taste. I tried Fish curry and prawns fry, but I had ate better tasty curries than this elsewhere. Also veg food is similarly not spicy even when you ask for one.
Swimming pool is the best thing here. I visited in slack season that too weekdays, only 2 other families occupied rooms that time. So there was no rush and whole pool was available for us to enjoy. Swimming costumes are available (for both the genders) on complimentary basis. You are not allowed to use the pool without swimming costumes. Kids pool is there but no accessories are available for kids like tubes etc. There is no kids play area inside the resort, but just adjacent to the resort there is a garden which has all the amenities for kids play, and the garden is just a five minutes’ walk from the resort.
The beach is the best. Nice clean, not crowed at all (when I visited), water is clean too. The beach may be risky, someone told me about drowning of someone. You can get motor boat ride here. The motorboat guy will show you dolphins if you go deeper. I witnessed myself the same. Parasailing guy was available but due to lack of wind he wasn’t operating.
If you want to visit Diu town, fort, nagoa beach then that’s far away from the resort.
Be wary of the photographer on the beach, he doesn’t give prints on good quality photo paper.
A trip well enjoyed because of the location which is closest to the beach. Only concern was the taste of the food, they should work on it.

We stayed in Sugati Beach resort for 3 nights in november 1st week and took the room number 709. Great view of the beach. In the noon because its an ocean view, curtains need to be closed but in the early mornings or evenings, view is great. Nothing much to do in Diu except enjoy the Ghogara beach which is just outside the hotel. The restaurant has stags in the evening who come from nearby for drinks so try to avoid the restaurant. Food is good. Chicken preparations are great. Food is not costly and service is good. Staff is also very good. The property needs renovation at some parts such as the restaurant which is less than ok. Drinks are also cheap so no need to go to the town to buy them. We had lunch at Kohinoor hotel and food was good. The beach is very good and lot of activities like camel rides, horse rides and baloon parasailing, water scooter were there and we tried all. Was very relaxing. Nice clean beach and we enjoyed early mornings and late evening walks. The beach closes at 8:00. Kids will have a blast. No security so need to keep a watch on them. Swimming pool is ok. Not very big. Try to stay in the new wing which has better furnishings. Water pressure in bathroom is great and 24hr hot water is available. Some times if the wind is on the side of the property, then u might get fish smell which is really bad...but cant do much. For this price, this property is a steal. I will always stay at 709 which has the best view.......

Room Tip: choose 709 or 609 or look into 708 or 608

Sugati Beach Resort is located at the entry point of Diu. Away from the city and the market. The best part is the location - right on the beach. The backside gate opens on Ghoghla Beach. It's more like a private beach of the hotel as hardly any tourist comes there. Not commericalised yet. Much better than the Nagoa beach which is over crowded.

The resort is well designed. Make sure you get the beach facing rooms. The swimming pool is not maintained properly. They don't have a plant for water treatment in the pool. I feel the water of the Arabian Sea is better to bath in than the swimming pool. Restaurant has limited items on the menu but the food is good. Rest all is fine - the service, cleanliness etc.

This one has got it all. Sea facing spacious rooms, good service, private (practically) beach and good food. Must stay in Diu! Don't forget to take a earling morning walk on the beach and pickup shells. You will also see fishermen..

Room Tip: Take the sea facing rooms...
