We used to go to this restaurnat about 15 years ago and I am happy to say it is still very good.
The restaurant is vegetarian one and has a variety of Indian dished as well as some Chinese ones.
We started with a few Chats ( a local speciality in Maharastra and Gujarat). These were excellent in taste.
The mains were again of great taste and the portions were also good.
The service is also good and a bonus is that the washroom is also OK.
Now in India once a restaurant opens or a hotel or I suppose anything, the first 6 months they are good but then the just go downhill. Ramanas is one of the exceptions, and a welcome one. It has maintened the standard and taste as well as cleanliness.

Whats Compelling about this place?
-----------------------------------------
Over the period of time, the charm of Cunningham road is declining, compared to what it was back then in 90's and early 2000's. However, the case of Ramana's restaurant is surprising and complimentary. The restaurant is attracting many foodies and gaining a good credibility. Amidst one of the most busy roads, its managing to run beyond expectations unlike some other restaurants around it, is quite impressive. They have yet manage the valet parking amidst such a busy area.

Maintaining a decent ambiance and hospitality is not everyone's sport. But this place is proving otherwise, every time I visit. Mostly carrying a strong bias towards non-spicy food aka Jain food they have maintained an implacable taste and hygiene. I enjoy having a meal over here all the time for this very reason. The wait time isn't something that one needs to worry for it hasn't been a problem for us during our dozen of visits.
For someone who doesn't have sweet tooth, this place might just be a substitute for your sudden hunger pangs. Not a place for gourmands though. Bit heavy on pockets for a mid-range diner.

What's best on their menu?
-----------------------------------------
1. The Veg platter: A quintessential starter, being friend zoned by many of the foodies here. In my view this is the assorted platter of all the best starters @ Ramana's. 2 platters serve 8 ppl easily.

2. Corn bhel: If you are not the one for a routine bhel, then this may accompany you till the main course. Mind you, its too heavy for a single chap.

3. Paneer butter masala & Baby corn Masala: Nothing much to say here but taste. And when the Veg Hyderabadi falls for my liking, then its definitely not spicy. Request to add tons of chili powder, if need be. :)

4. Butter phulkas: I always prefer them any day over Kulcha/naan/rotis for you can enjoy more curry when phulkas are on the plate.

5. Pudina Nimbu Paani & Lassi: The 2 best drinks who keeps our company through out the lunch. Go for'em.

Report card:
-----------------------------------------
1. Taste: 4/5
2. Ambiance: 4/5
3. Service: 4/5
4. Value for money: 3/5

Elaborate vegetarian cuisine in a tiny place !

Located at “Cunningham road” at Geneva House, with a main floor & a mezzanine floor.Almost like a fast food joint with speedy service.Portions are tiny, and rates are reasonable. We loved most of the food they served, even the pickle, mint chutney & onions !

 Malai Kofta curry with another name called “SHAM SAVERA”.Thick, creamy and almost delicious.Dumpling balls inside were just bearable.
 Dal tadka of soft cooked lentils, simple and tad thick, but full of flavours.
 Crispy papad topped with spiced “onion-tomato mixture” all done very well.
 Phulkas, the soft and thin puffed flatbread, my all time favourite, cooked to perfection, with amazing texture.
 Grated Carrot Halwa, with almond garnish was a pure delight.

Perfect place for swift family dining, and for office goers.Parking is ruled out, although they have some Valet service.Booking may be needed, or simple waiting in numerous Chairs provided outside.

I visited this restaurant with
my family a week ago. I knew this place before as I used to dine there few years ago when I was staying at nearby locality. I am quite impressed by the quality and hospitality, they sustained for all these years. The menu is vegetarian only with variety of options including soothing inhouse soft drinks. Though it's located on a busy commercial area,it maintain the calm and quite ambience with personal touch. Parking is a problem but valet services is available. Not to missed by vegetarian food lovers. It's better to reserve in advance as there will be rush during lunch time.
