My family and I visited Kalvari Mount in February 2018. This is a hill-top garden and observation point that literally takes your breath away. It is nearly 10 km from Idukki and the road isn't the best, but the place itself, and its beauty, more than compensates for the difficulty in reaching the top.

Do sit under the cupola and admire the majestic views of the waters below and the small islands within. This is a good place to take photos.

First off all, from main road there is almost 1 km to Kalvari Mount and small vehicles can rode this 1km.
From this area there is ticket to enter into this place. Costs INR 25 for adult. The parking cost is also INR 25.

If you visit this place in midday then please carry sunglasses.

We can see the Idukki reservoir from here. It is a marvelous view. We can spend some time here. The place is a gift from nature.

There is a small coffee shop functions here.

The road up is steep and dusty. There is a forest guard barrier collecting tolls for parking vehicles.
Walk up to the edge for the view point in winter months the mist hangs low over the lake and the sun is setting over the mountains is a fantastic sight to behold.

Worth the drive and wait.
