The place is small in the heart of Pune city. But the richness of the place is seen everywhere in the recently renovated place.
Most interesting was the Bhasmarati offered on Chaturthi. The way the bhajans are sung is a treat to watch for those who come to have a Darshan of Lord who is Parabrahma or the highest level god. Note even if Ganapati is son of Shankar he is not second to him!!! During the period from Ganesha Chaturthi to ananda chaturdashi, which happens in August / Sept.the idol is shifted to original place near Datta Mandir and decoration representing famous temples of India takes place. Big rush of people takes place from all over Pune.

very nice temple. lot of people visit this temple.. located in the main old city of pune. the roads are too crowded. once inside you get a nice feeling. i keep visiting this ganeshji temple. avoid going on tuesdays.

This is old Ganpati Temple and must visit place during your Pune visit. It becomes phenomenal during the Ganesh Festival (celebrated for 10 days in August/September depending on the Moon cycle).

traffic in Pune is chaotic, so choose a mid morning and ealy evening time slot for the visit
