You will love the experience at The Serai. It is a world of tents...but luxurious and old-world...and delicious food and wonderful service, and good activities to keep you interested. We were there for two nights. One night is not enough.
Don't miss bird-watching in the early morning with their highly informed guide and the Sundowner at dusk...a camel ride in the semi-arid desert where you end up with champagne and snacks to watch the sunset. Very cool.
This place gets A for drama and romance. We loved it.
From here you can visit Jaisalmer, which is a about 1 hr away, and worth the trip. The fort is really interesting because people actually live in it now. And we were lucky enough to catch the Desert Festival, with camel parades and exercises....truly exotic.
